WWE Raw July 21, 2014- 5 Promising Developments

Whatever happened on Raw tonight was not unpredictable. It was not shocking, but it was very, very well executed. There were many new developments whichbrought a whole new excitement to watching Raw next Monday. The divas division is finally getting revitalized and just when it seemed like they were more or less the highlight of the show, the main event happened and it was a promo by Paul Heyman, should say more? I will. Here are the five promising development from this weeks Raw.

#1 Stephanie McMahon Is Back

Yes, yes, I know she was always there but as a terrific non-wrestling heel. But now it seems she’ll be back in the ring for a match against Brie Bella. If that happens, this will be the first match she competes in since her match against her dad years ago. And if you’ve seen most of her matches you know she’s not that much of a wrestler put she always performs.

Her matches have always lived up to the hype, rather always exceeded expectations. She can get someone like Brie Bella. who is not much of a good actor, to be cheered wildly by the crowd just because Stephanie is a masterful heel. The reactions to her segments tonight were proof that the audience is excited for this feud.

#2 The Paige has Turned

Paige finally turned heel and gave a performance that washes out all her performances in the past 3 months. She was awesome given that being the goody two shoes clean cut diva image never suited her. She looked more of the anti-diva she used to be on NXT and being a heel gives her space to be bring back some attitude and a heel is always more interesting than a babyface.

The crowd took notice too and now we don’t just have one but two compelling feuds in the divas division. Things just got interesting.

#3 Start of Something New

This really could be the start of something great or something not so great. It obviously depends on Creative and how they go about it. Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods are looking at something interesting creatively. Woods said, “Together it’s our time to find purpose.”

And thus began the speculation of a soon to be formed stable or rather a new ‘Nation Of Domination’. If handled properly, this stable is going to be one of the best.

#4 The feud for the IC Title

Dolph Ziggler and the Miz faced off after a memorable Battle Royal at Battleground in which Ziggler was the most over superstar. WWE knows that Ziggler’s got a dedicated following and Miz is an easinly booed heel. Both of them work well together. This gives Dolph Ziggler time to shine in a title picture scenario and have a long enough feud for the I.C title.

This feud can be solely built on the audience wanting the corporate powers to finally bestow Ziggler with some glory.

#5 Raw After Wrestlemania 28- Part 2

It was expected that Lesnar is Plan C and it was expected that he will face Cena at Summerslam but it was executed very well and played up to the excitement of the fans who wanted lesnar back. But the showstealing moment of the segment was Paul Heyman’s promo. That promo was not just the highlight of the segment but the highlight of the show.

Lesnar has come back to face Cena for the second time since his prodigal return in 2012. Cena won at Extreme Rules then with just two moves in the end but this time, it looks like things will ger even. That might just set a match between Lesnar against a returning Bryan, if Lesnar wins.
