Royal Rumble 2015: 5 Big twists that could happen at the Pay-Per-View

The element of shock is what drives Royal Rumble forward. At each turn of the show, the company could easily pull off some surprise from the hat and make the fans jump out of their seats. Thanks to a forgettable TLC outing last month, Vince McMahon would be desperate to make things correct at the Rumble and the surprise factor will play a big role in that mission. After all, who doesnt like a good old chill down the spines?Hopes should not be kept high considering the past outings of WWE but here are some of the booking decisions that could go down in the history of Royal Rumble as big twists.

#6 Family Reunion

The Wyatt family’s break up has been an utter failure so far. Luke Harper looked great initially but after he dropped the title to Dolph Ziggler, things went downhill for him. Rowan on the other hand wasn’t any different.

He looked great before Survivor Series but thanks to a botched defeat against Big Show, his baby face run bombed. Bray meanwhile had a great feud with Dean Ambrose which never worked out properly due to WWE’s way of ending matches chaotically.

All three members will be in the Rumble match and we could expect a full-fledged reunion. If WWE is high enough on Bray, we could even see him win it with the help of his family.

#5 Lunatic Fringe turns heel

Ambrose has been outselling John Cena in terms of being the top face of WWE and no one would even think about turning him heel at this moment. But that is what surprises are all about.

He is a natural heel on any day and could put over anyone that is pitted against him. There are rumors making the rounds about WWE wanting to push Reigns at the expense of Ambrose. For that to materialize, they will have to let Ambrose turn heel and do something out of limits at the Rumble.

WWE could then easily take Reigns away from the Title scene and let Bryan slip in while Ambrose would have a credible angle as well. Killing off Ambrose’s momentum is a big problem but if you have to get some, you got to give some.

#4 Daniel Bryan not winning the Royal Rumble

Daniel Bryan is the hands down favorite heading into this year’s Rumble. His return came earlier than expected and has provided WWE with the best opportunity to book a credible WrestleMania Main event.

But what if Bryan doesn’t win the Rumble? Or what if he gets eliminated just moments after entering the ring? Both these scenarios would be major swerves from the WWE.

Everyone tuning into the show would expect Bryan to look good or walk away as the winner, but the company could always throw in a surprise and screw Bryan. Bryan looking weak might also help whoever wins the Rumble as he will get a bit less jeers in the end.

#3 Rollins Cashing in (Successfully)

Seth Rollins might be a favorite on paper at Royal Rumble thanks to his briefcase but we all know that his chances of winning against Lesnar and Cena are pretty low. So WWE need not give him a clean win, but they could let him cash in successfully.

After Cena wins the title from Lesnar, Rollins could prove to be the ultimate opportunist and snatch the title. It would guarantee him a spot in the WrestleMania main event and rightfully so.

Daniel Bryan winning the Rumble in parallel sets up a great ‘wrestling’ match for Mania with the alternatives being a Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins triple Threat for the title.

#2 Lesnar wins the Rumble

No, obviously I’m not serious but think about it. Lesnar wins the Rumble and the Championship match, so there is no No.1 Contender for him which helps him skip WrestleMania and keep the light schedule intact.

#1 A Cena Heel Turn

This is something we’ve been through a million times but then again, Cena turning heel is like the ultimate fantasy of every Wrestling fan out there. After costing the job of three baby faces in the company, this is the ideal opportunity.

At Rumble, he will face Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship and if Cena ends up joining with Triple H by screwing Rollins, then that would attract a lot of mainstream attention.

This could set up a heel Cena vs.Daniel Bryan for the championship at Mania. Reigns could lock horns with Brock Lesnar and a showdown between Rollins and Triple H will sell tickets on the other side.
