WWE Royal Rumble 2015: Full match card analysis and predictions

The WWE Universe is all set to rumble in just a matter of hours as WWE will be bringing their 28th annual Royal Rumble from the land of extreme. Apart from the usual Battle Royal Match, the company has packed up the show with five other entertaining bouts which has the potential to look solid. After their forgettable outing in TLC, there will be a lot of pressure on Vince McMahon to produce something special at the Royal Rumble and the margin for error is at its all-time low. From the looks of it, the company has planned out some great surprises for the event but before all that; let’s take a closer look into the match card and the possible winners for each match.

#6 Paige and Natalya vs. The Bella Twins

This divas tag team match has all the chances of ending up being a buffer match. It will probably be put in between the main event and some other hot match just to make the fans settle down because there isn’t any proper storyline backing here.

The Bellas have apparently no friction among them and there is no championship involved in between as well. Paige’s face run might be under the spotlight here but then again, she is not completely turned into a baby face.

The match could go either ways, but since the company would be looking to build up either Paige or Natalya as a title challenger, they are the favorites to snatch a win.

Prediction: Natalya and Paige wins

#5 The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn) vs. The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor)

After ruining the Ascension at the reunion episode of Raw, the company has a lot of ground to make up. Booking the former NXT tag champions against the New Age Outlaws seems to be the right path as well.

The idea of Ascension insulting the legendary teams were pushed hard by the company until they started drawing a great amount of heat than expected. Vince apparently gave up on the team and this was responsible for their burial on Raw.

Outlaws might not be in the best possible shape at the moment but they could play the role of some legendary jobbers. What Ascension needs is a good win and they are going to get it at the rumble.

Prediction: Ascension wins

#4 The Usos (c) vs. The Miz and Damien Mizdow(Tag Team Championship)

The storyline between Usos and Miz – Mizdow will be stretched to unwanted lands on Royal Rumble. The two teams have been locking horns for nearly two months now and there will be nothing new about the bout.

Miz and Mizdow getting their hands on the championship is a long shot as Usos needs to remain as champions for the eventual clash with the Ascension. Apart from the used techniques, WWE will be looking to dig deep into the Mizdow situation.

A possible tussle between the Hollywood star and his stunt double might well be on the paper but even if that doesn’t happen, Usos are going home with the Gold.

Prediction: Usos win

#3 The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) vs. Cesaro, Tyson Kidd and Adam Rose

This match makes sense for a lot of reasons and doesn’t make sense for lot of others. First of all, it is good to give the team of Cesaro and Tyson Kidd some pay-per-view time but the role of Adam Rose is still a big question mark.

The concept of New Day on the other hand has been bombing big time. Giving them another victory at the Rumble would be a desperate measure from the company and it will bury the opposition in no time.

Letting New Day win is bad for business to be frank, but the company will go with that result since they are still trying to revive the idea. With that said, expect a good match with all the talented names in the mix.

Prediction: New Day wins

#2 Brock Lesnar (c) vs. John Cena vs. Seth Rollins (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)

This is one of the years where the company is pushing both the championship match and the Rumble match with equal importance. While thirty men will fight it out for headlining WrestleMania, these three will be looking to settle the scores once and for all.

Though many might not see Seth Rollins as a big deal among the two, he is a clear favorite to win the match. He also has the Money in the Bank briefcase in his hand to help him further.

Lesnar might drop the title at the pay-per-view but don’t expect Rollins to pick it up even though he is the favorite. A lot of possibilities are there for this one but the best one would be to turn Lesnar, make Rollins the new Paul Heyman guy and let Cena win the Championship.

Prediction: Cena wins.

#1 Royal Rumble match

The biggest attraction of the pay-per-view like all the previous years would be the Royal Rumble match. Unlike last year, this time around, there are a handful of names that could go all the way and win the match which makes this the most exciting Rumble in recent times.

The favorites include Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. Dolph Ziggler’s name has been in the mix for a while, but he is not going to win as long as Vince is in charge of the booking team.

Ambrose also looks to be filtered out leaving us with two potential candidates in the form of Reigns and Bryan. We would love to see Bryan win the whole thing, but Reigns will get the pick because of Bryan’s fragile state.

WWE would not want to put the WrestleMania burden on Bryan in such a situation making Reigns the favorite.

Prediction: Reigns wins
