There it is. Smackdown is done with its go-home show for The Royal Rumble. And it ended in chaos and on an equally exciting note. There were many little things of note that might just make the difference. Little details put here and there - some noticeable and some very, very subtle. But the guessing game is on. Here are five points of note from this week’s Smackdown for the Royal Rumble.

#5 Hashtag Heel?

It’s a bit surprising that even though Ziggler has enjoyed a being a great babyface for more than a year, his twitter handle still has the word heel in it.

There have been some speculations that Ziggler might turn heel. Some, that is.

This week on Smackdown he took a dig at CM Punk. That’s a bit surprising. Ziggler said that he’d rather take all the punishment there ever is coming from the Authority than sit at home and rant on a podcast. That’s saying a lot about someone who was one of the most popular superstars in the history of the company. How is that supposed to sit well with the hardcore fanbase who support Ziggler as well?

Heel seeds planted?

#4 The Number Game

Fandango was backstage with Rosa where he was supposedly getting the number at which he’ll be entering the Rumble. He was happy with the number that he got. He kept himself busy and distracted by showering his happiness on Rosa. Then we see Ambrose’s hand picking up another number. He, then went on to steal Fandango’s number instead.

That was some mystery.

Maybe, Ambrose is entering later into the Rumble or maybe the Authority will call out Ambrose at the PPV and punish him for stealing fandango’s number. Anyway, there is a continuity to this incident.

#3 No Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt was conspicuous by his absence. He wasn’t there throughout the night. he didn’t even run down the ring at the end of the night when chaos ensued.

Here’s the thing, if his plans with Undertaker don’t work out - he may as well get a chance to win the Rumble. That’ll be a bit surprising. The only problem with that is the fact that he’s been put over by a popular star like Ambrose and even though he is an engaging character with his promos, he’s still needs work on working long matches.

And he hasn’t been as popular after facing and losing to Cena at Mania last year.

#2 Miz Vs Mizdow

The Miz was as bossy as ever backstage and Damien Mizdow finally got some words out of his mouth that were his own. He wasn’t lip syncing for once. Miz was being the heel that he’s supposed to doing a great job at it. Mizdow was being the sypathetic babyface. It seems Mizdow will eliminate the Miz at the Rumble rather than eliminating himself after Miz gets eliminated.

Either way, it’s time for Mizdow to show some of his own character development.

#1 The night\'s climax

The climax of the show saw chaos ensue and superstars who are and who are not in the Rumble come running to the ring.

The point to note is that Ambrose and Reigns got to have their entrance theme played when running towards the ring. It was a bit awkward for Reigns to come running down from the crowd and that’s understandable. It’ll be quite a sight when he enters through the Philly crowd.

With Ambrose, WWE showed subtle signs that they do believe in him. He wasn’t having a match this night just like Reigns and he got his own entrance played just like Reigns. WWE knows that Ambrose is a favorite.

Does that mean he wins the Rumble or is that a consolation that even if he doesn’t win, he’s still considered important?
