WWE Survior Series 2014 : Top 5 Winners and Losers from the Pay-Per-View

Being a wrestling fan these days is not a walk in the park. You get all the teases and rolling eyes from your peers but its pay-per-views like Survivor Series that makes everything worth it.The show that WWE bought out last night from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri was probably the best pay-per-view outing of the company this year and every show that follows Survivor Series will have big shoes to fill in.There was an array of memorable moments that came from Sunday but above all there were some individual performances that deserve some mentions. So here is a look at the biggest winners and biggest losers that came out of Survivor Series after all that smoked cleared up.

#10 Loser: AJ Lee

AJ Lee is a superstar who defeated the entire divas division in one night and came out with her title intact. It was the extreme opposite case at Survivor Series.

She came in, she made out with Brie Bella and she lost the match to the other Bella just like that. Now, Nikki ain’t one of those brightest apples in the basket. Her wrestling skills are far away from that of AJ’s and the same goes for her mic skills.

And when AJ lost out to a diva like that, you know it was a bad day in the office for her. There is also a cloud around the future of AJ right now as the rumors of her quitting WWE is stronger than ever.

#9 Winner: Dean Ambrose

The feud between Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt suffered a lot due to the lack of time. WWE only had four weeks to make this a great match and also there was this big shadow cast over by the Team Cena – Team Authority angle.

However, once the bell rang, both men taught the fans how wrestling can be painful. It was physical and chaotic at all levels while the ending stood out bright.

Ambrose simply destroyed Bray in the climatic sequence and he proved everyone that he was crazier than the eater of the worlds. WWE has the opportunity to turn this into another great storyline and hopefully they would bank in properly.

#8 Loser: Fandango

New costume, new valet, new genre of dance, but the same old story. Fandango made his return at Survivor Series after a long hiatus and in place of stealing the show, he just fell flat.

The fans weren’t buying into what Fandango sold and the only thing exciting about his match was that leg drop we’ve not seen for a long time. Also, Rosa’s new costume stood out even though her dance moves didn’t.

Fandango is a solid in ring performer, period. But as long as he sticks to his current gimmick, he is going to remain as a midcarder who cannot break into a much bigger scene or hold any midcard championship.

#7 Winner: Nikki Bella

The match between Nikki Bella and AJ Lee was one of those outings where the entrance was longer than the actual match. Nikki wasn’t a favorite heading into the match but there was an outside chance due to the rumors of AJ leaving WWE.

The win came in a controversial or weird fashion to be frank but Nikki doesn’t have to be worried about how it came as far as she has the title around her waist. Also, the surprising help from Brie came in handy for the new champion who seems to have buried the hatchet with her sister.

She was a winner because of getting such a bargain win over AJ Lee and also for earning another title reign which we never saw coming in the first place.

#6 Loser: Triple H

Triple H is no longer in power; I repeat Triple H is no longer in power. This might not go down as a good statement in real life but from the kayfabe point of view, the Authority ended at the right time.

The angle was more than a year old and was beginning to turn stale due to the repetitive nature of booking they got. Before the pay-per-view, to make sure he stays in power, Hunter lined up possibly the best team he could’ve lined up.

He also did all those dirty tricks against team Cena but despite all that, Triple H ended up in the losing side. If that isn’t a bad news then I don’t know what is.

#5 Winner: Sting

It was one of those moments where we realized that it’s not only Kim Kardashian that can break the internet.

Sting made us wait for 13 years but all that waiting found a purpose when he finally came down that aisle. The atmosphere was nothing short of electric when the icon made his WWE debut and in his usual style Sting left a lot of questions unanswered.

Demise of Authority coming due to Sting’s involvement was the biggest talking point that came out from Sunday and WWE’s future plans will be revolving around him which further makes his appearance more important.

#4 Loser: Big Show

There wouldn’t be any other superstar in the WWE roster that turns more often than Big Show. He would be heel on one day and the other day he could be a giant friendly babyface. What went down at Survivor Series was just another perk of this trait.

Show’s turn was supposed to be a game changer in the main event but it produced no heat whatsoever. It did make Ziggler’s eventual win look more credible but apart from that, the heel turn went mislaid.

Playing heel would be good for Show on the longer run but as far as Survivor Series is concerned, what WWE planned never took off and Show looked nothing more than a fish out of the pond.

#3 Winner: Damien Mizdow

With the amount of talent that was involved, the fatal four way tag team match was sure to be a success story. And it sure was. There were a lot of exciting burst of action throughout the match as all four teams excelled in their contributions.

But what stood out most in the end was how it all ended. Miz and his stunt double walked out of Survivor Series as the tag team champions and they deserved the gold as well.

Mizdow in particular came out looking great as he was the one who got the deciding pin of the match. There is a lot of potential in Miz and Mizdow as tag team champions and hopefully when it’s over, Mizdow would reach where he deserves to reach.

#2 Loser: John Cena

In case you forgot, it was Cena who led a team into Survivor Series to destroy the Authority. Once the match started nearing its end, Cena let his team down thanks to Big Show’s turn and left it all depending on Ziggler.

Cena is not used to being booked like the way he was booked at the pay-per-view that makes him a loser even though it was a crowd pleaser.

There is no storyline that Cena could take out of that ending and it clearly was an embarrassing outing for the Cenation leader. The best possible path that he has now is a feud with Big Show. And we all know how that feud would end don’t we?

#1 Winner: Dolph Ziggler

It isn’t every day that you see Ziggler get a credible booking. Even if he gets a good win, it would be overshadowed by one thing or the other but at Survivor Series, Ziggler was the real star.

Every fan around the world expected another screwy ending for the main event when John Cena was eliminated but what followed was one of the best underdog stories in recent history. Ziggler overcame the odds like a real hero and saved his job.

Though he got some help from Sting, it was Ziggler who put an end to the Authority. It might sound a lot like karma considering the things Hunter did to Ziggler even if it was kayfabe, and at the end of the day, Survivor Series will go down in history as a pay-per-view that gave Ziggler his rewards.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
