WWE Survivor Series 2014: 5 big returns that could happen at the Pay-Per-View

One of the most exciting things about WWE’s latest edition of Survivor Series is the number of returns that has been lined up for the pay-per-view.There is a plethora of names on the disabled list at the moment and at least a handful of those could come back swinging on November 23rd.The ever increasing number of injuries and the unwanted outside commitments is what depleted the company’s roster. And this has landed Vince McMahon in such a precarious situation which made him give out the network for free.A legendary stage like Survivor Series would be the best place to bring back some big names and here is a look at some of those Superstars that could make headlines at the pay-per-view.

#1 Randy Orton

The Viper went out like a hero and will return like a hero. Orton is not scheduled to work in the Survivor Series according to the rumors but coming out for the main event and ruining the Authority’s night would be a great moment to watch.

He will be treated as a baby face when he makes his return and there won’t be a better opponent than the Authority to feud with.

Hunter and Seth Rollins would be ideal obstacles for Orton’s latest face run as the last thing the company would want is another Cena – Orton showdown.

There is also another possibility of Orton getting some friction with Brock Lesnar as the Viper still deserves a shot at the title that he lost back in WrestleMania.

#2 Bad News Barrett

WWE literally wasted the British Brawler for major portion of 2013 and when they finally realized his potential; his shoulder hit the barricade abruptly thus taking him out of action.

Barrett had to forfeit his Intercontinental Championship as well thanks to the injury but it could be seen as a path towards bigger things. If Barrett was to be in the midcard championship scene he would’ve been restricted from going up.

However, after this injury, the company could bring him back straight into the main event scene. There is a lack of depth in the main event at the moment which is one of the reasons why Ryback is getting the current push.

Barrett is a much better prospect than Ryback both in between the ropes and out of it and the situation couldn’t be any better as well.

#3 Brock Lesnar

Finding aliens from distant planets would be easier for the WWE Universe than finding where their WWE champion spends all these time.

When he won the WWE championship from John Cena at SummerSlam, the only thing that the fans expected from Lesnar was to show up once in a month for the pay-per-views. Well, from the looks of it, he might have a contract that lets him make one appearance in every three months.

So far in 2014, Lesnar made his appearance in three out of the four big pay-per-views with the last one being Survivor Series.

Now that the company is giving away the show for free in the Network, the last thing they would want is their champion missing. This offers a slight hope of seeing the Beast at the pay-per-view even if its through some satellite.

#4 Roman Reigns

Reigns’ injury was one of the biggest blows that WWE had in recent history. The former Shield member was making a mark for himself as a singles prospect thanks to his feud with Seth Rollins but unfortunately, the injury took away all his momentum.

He has been taking acting lessons in the meantime and we could expect a well-rounded Reigns when he comes out next.

The microphone department was the only thing he lacked in and covering up that will make Reigns ready for that big push into the top of the mountain.

Reigns wrestling a match would be a long shot considering his physical condition but he could come out and cut a promo against the Authority and Seth Rollins as it was them who took him out of action for such a long time.

#5 The Rock

It’s hard to pull out a surprise return in the current internet era. Some dirt sheet in some corner of the Internet is going to spoil the news even before the show goes on air and this is a big problem for all the wrestling promotions out there.

WWE somehow overcame this hurdle when they bought out Rock a couple of months back. Everyone was stunned by the segment and if the company could deliver a similar one at Survivor Series it would be a sure shot success.

Rock’s presence itself would be a big boost for the show and if McMahon could convince Rock to wrestle just one night, then that is going to be a ‘best for business’ move. Having Rock in the show will also help promote the Network which is the company’s ultimate aim after all.
