WWE Survivor Series 2014: 5 matches that could headline the pay-per-view

The creative team is doing a horrible job in building up Hell in a Cell. There are still a lot of questions still unanswered about the show but has delivered a credible main event where either John Cena or Dean Ambrose would face Seth Rollins in a Hell in a Cell match.Main events are without a doubt on of the most important necessities while promoting a pay-per-view and WWE needs to keep the bar high for Survivor Series as well.WWE’s survivor Series might still be a month away but the sheer importance of the pay-per-view makes it worth building up at the earliest. We might be having no idea how the landscape would turn out to be after Hell in a Cell, but here is a look at some of those matches that could headline Survivor Series and make the fans happy at the same time.

#5 Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena

Before the frowning process starts, let’s take a deep breath and think this through. The WWE Universe wasn’t excited about seeing Cena and Lesnar face off at SummerSlam but the match ended up being a runaway success.

This acted as the fuel for their rematch at Night of Champion. And the fans who came to see another epic match between the two were not disappointed until the company decided to introduce Seth Rollins into the mix.

Rollins made sure that the story would be left incomplete for the moment and the creative team should end it before Lesnar starts losing his moment.

Everyone knows that Cena and Lesnar could deliver another great match and there wouldn’t be a better stage than Survivor Series.

#4 Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar

Hunter has a long and rich history with the WWE champion, Brock Lesnar. Things between the two seemed to have cooled down when Lesnar broke the streak and won the title but the tension was reintroduced thanks to a hot headed Seth Rollins.

Rollins went out at Night of Champions and curb stomped Lesnar into the mat and cost him the match against John Cena.

Lesnar was apparently not happy about what Rollins did and Paul Heyman confirmed that the fears were real. This sparked a fire between Heyman and Hunter which could easily be morphed into a match between Lesnar and the COO.

Two established names headlining Survivor Series would be an ideal path and the prospect of seeing either Brock or Hunter as a face makes it more interesting.

#3 Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins

While the last option sets up the stage for two established names like Lesnar and Hunter, this one offers the same to two rising stars. The feud between Ambrose and Rollins has been epic so far and they deserve a big stage to end it.

Hell in a Cell couldn’t be counted on to deliver the same since there is a factor called John Cena in the mix which could give us a Cena- Rollins match instead of a Ambrose – Rollins one.

And even if the Ambrose – Rollins match happens at HIAC, these are two superstars that can deliver a great match in their sleep.

Having two upcoming names headline a pay-per-view like Survivor Series would make WWE’s intentions clear about the arrival of a new era as well.

#2 Team NXT vs. Team WWE

There won’t be anything classier that a traditional Survivor Series elimination match to headline the pay-per-view. And when it is between two brands, the excitement levels are sure to touch the skies.

WWE has enough superstars down in NXT to make a movement against the main roster. Names like Sami Zayn, Kenta, Prince Devitt, Kevin Steen and Adrian Neville could form a team and challenge superstars in the main roster to know who the better brand is.

The company need to spend main event stars like Cena or Lesnar into the WWE team but they can certain afford the lights of Cesaros and Zigglers.

A team made up of Cesaro, Ziggler, Usos, Sheamus, and some other midcarders could deliver a high quality bout which might not say a story but would stand out due to the in ring brilliance.

#1 Team Rollins vs. Team Ambrose

Following up from the point of nothing won’t be anything classier that a traditional Survivor Series elimination match to headline the pay-per-view, here is another match that could bring down the roof.

The angle between Ambrose and Rollins might be going through a single action at Hell in a Cell and instead of immediately following up with another one on one match, the writers can let Ambrose and Rollins build their team.

Rollins team would be made up mostly of the Authority’s loyal workers with the addition of some hired muscle like Cesaro or the Wyatt Family.

Ambrose can get Cena and Reigns by his side while Usos are good contenders as well. A high profile traditional match was missing last year and hopefully WWE could avoid the problem this year.
