WWE Survivor Series 2014: Final match card analysis and predictions

November 23 is going to be a make or break day for Vince McMahon. His promotion would be producing their annual Survivor Series from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri and unlike its previous editions, this time, the pay-per-view is would be given out for free. The motive behind the big risk is to attract new customers into the Network and for that the company will have to give out a great show to begin with. Along with that there is an added pressure of drawing numbers due to the free nature.Five confirmed matches have been slated for the show so far while the match card is most likely to grow once the pay-per-view gets started. But before that here are the predictions for the confirmed match card that has been advertised by the company.

#6 Someone teach this guy how to use a calendar

Before we get into the serious business of predicting the winners at Survivor Series, here is a message issued due to public interest.

The WWE champion Brock Lesnar has been missing for nearly three months and anyone who finds him would clearly be doing a big favor for WWE.

The apparent reasons for Lesnar’s absence might be the lack of knowledge he has about using a calendar or he might be this spy agent sent by UFC to kick WWE out of business. Either way, the WWE Champion is not going to be present in the second most important pay-per-view of the year and that’s going to draw new subscribers to the Network I guess.

#5 Team Natalya (Alicia Fox, Emma, Naomi and Natalya) vs. Team Paige (Paige, Cameron, Layla and Summer Rae)

Apparently WWE got hit in the head by someone and suddenly they realized that another traditional match could be added to the pay-per-view. And just like that we ended up having this match between all the random divas in the division.

No, this is not going to sell the PPV more but it will certainly give these girls a deserving spotlight. Almost all the names in the match are heavily underused right now and they could spark some magic during the match.

It’s hard to pick a winner from the two teams since both Natalya and Paige need a win to stay relevant. However, its Paige who is more desperate to get a win as she needs to hang in there until Charlotte is called up to the main roster.

Prediction: Team Paige wins

#4 Gold and Stardust vs. The Usos vs. Los Matadores vs. The Miz and Damien Mizdow (Tag Team Championship)

WWE threw in all the tag teams they had at their disposal and booked this match for the tag team championship. The Dust Brothers haven’t looked credible during their current run and it would only be a sensible move if the WWE decide to take the gold away from them.

Los Matadores getting the championship win would be a long shot. They are too goofy to have championships around their waists and it would be a suicide from WWE’s side to let them win.

Usos are still fresh from their last championship run and wouldn’t benefit from starting another one at Survivor Series. Miz and Mizdow on the other hand are perfect contenders for a title change.

They are incredibly over with the fans and deserve to be champions. This win could also fuel their eventual split up making it the best possible ending.

Prediction: Miz and Mizdow wins

#3 Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt

What happened in the Hell in a Cell main event attracted a lot of negative attention for the WWE. Despite this, the fans were high about the possibility of seeing Ambrose and Bray go at it in a potential epic feud.

But the epicness never came by. The promos that the two gave out were spectacular but it felt rushed. The buildup was a bit short and the Team Cena – Team Authority angle overshadowed whatever Bray and Dean were doing.

In the end, it’s not a match that comes down to winning and losing. These characters doesn’t mind who wins or losses as far as the message is delivered. For the sake of the PPV, Bray could be the winner here.

Ambrose wouldn’t mind taking a loss due to being over with the fans while it’s Bray who needs to show the fans that the feud is going to be credible in the future.

Prediction: Bray Wyatt wins.

#2 AJ Lee (c) vs. Nikki Bella (Divas Champioship)

After Paige moved out of the title scenario, Nikki was the only option that the WWE writers had at their disposal.

They wasted no time in booking that angle and the ‘personal assistant’ angle that ran between Brie and Nikki was an add-on subplot.

AJ Lee has been the champion this long because she knows how to carry around the division. Nikki was never good enough to fill in that position and the people at WWE would be aware of this.

This makes AJ the favorite here but it’s not going to be a regular win. The champion is going to get a lot of help from Brie to get the win so that the company would be free to continue with the Brie – Nikki angle even though the fans will hate the idea.

Prediction: AJ Lee wins

#1 Team Cena (John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Erick Rowan and Ryback) vs. Team Authority (Seth Rollins, Kane, Mark Henry, Rusev and Luke Harper)

This is the only match in the pay-per-view that got a proper buildup and right fully so. The company has been stressing the importance of the match right from the start and it could turn out to be the most significant match in recent history as well.

There are a lot of subplots to be followed here in both teams. Team Cena has been tortured big time by the Authority and it wouldn’t be a surprise if someone turns on Cena. Erick Rowan meeting up with her former partner would be another great moment amidst the chaos.

Ryback’s ascension will be the other angle that deserves a mention. He has been hot ever since the comeback and might even be the lone survivor.

As far as the winner is concerned, WWE already gave the answer for that. Triple H added a stipulation that if Team Cena losses, the entire team would be fired which if happens would be a great angle but ain’t going to happen since we know very well about the WWE creative team.

Team Cena is going to be the clear winner here and Authority will be taken out of Power and like it or not, Cena might even be the last one standing.

Prediction: Team Cena wins.
