Survivor Series 2015 - 5 Points to note

Underutilized, again.

Roman’s fallen empireThis wasn’t a Survivor Series that was hyped way in advance like a ‘Big 4 PPV’ should. There was not even a proper build up to a traditional tag team match. It was all put quite haphazardly. But the PPV’s strength depended entirely on the tournament to determine the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. But as the road to Survivor Series was at its tail end, WWE gave us a controversial angle between Paige and Charlotte and suddenly there was something else to garner our interest. It had a few good matchs and a some heartbreaks as well. Here are the 5 points to note from this years edition of Survivor Series.

#5 No Cesaro vs Stardust

Underutilized, again.

Not only did the WWE get the traditional tag team match going on in a very improper fashion by not even having any build up to it, Goldust had a fun return which many might not have noticed and he faced his baby brother without any fanfare around it.

Also, news came that Cesaro is injured. It is a gut punch since there is no one on the current roster that makes wrestling look as beautiful and majestic as Cesaro does.

This is also heartbreaking because it finally looked like two of the most underutilized and talented superstars like Stardust and Cesaro will finally kick off their feud, but this injury has put a stop to all of it.

#4 Good lead up

Over to Roman Empire

Roman Reigns was met with a chorus of boos. No doubt about that happening, but he did have a great match and possibly the best match of the PPV against Alberto Del Rio.

Triple H’s presence was looming large in this match as Reigns won a hard fought bout, which was close and had many thrilling moments. Dean Ambrose and Owens had a good match, but it wasn’t as great as what they had to follow.

But everything went as expected and it was a brother vs brother match as the main event. Suspense was in the air and so was the excitement.

#3 Charlotte wins

These two had a brutal match

The personal vendetta between these two women was accelerated by what happened in the last episode of Raw. That provided enough discussion around these two and the WWE in general.

This was a hard fought match, no doubt about that. Given the talent involved, that was expected. Both women were ready to take big bumps and that gave the feud an extra edge.

They played well into making the match seem like a personal vengeance, but it faltered with the fact that the audience wasn’t really into this match. Also, Paige who’s been playing her heel part well lost mighty clean, and Charlotte, who’s still not as over as the WWE want her to be won and still couldn’t get a really favorable reaction from the audience

#2 Just like that

Fear has to wait

Sure, Undertaker is one of the greatest superstars of all time. And WWE made him look great here.

But it all came at the expense of the Wyatt Family. The layback is that Wyatt lost again to The Undertaker. They just haven’t had him pass the torch to Wyatt in any symbolic fashion and Wyatt with these string of losses just comes off looking not all that enigmatic or the new face of fear as he so very much likes to call himself.

How is WWE going to book him and his family going ahead this demolition by the brothers of destruction, will be challenging.

#1 The muddled affair

Triple H’s new man.

They knew Roman Reigns will be booed, but the plan was all along to make him champion at Survivor Series and he won. He did not turn heel as expected and ended up defeating the fan favorite Dean Ambrose.

But they made him suffer again at the hands of someone who hasn’t been well booked at all. Maybe that’s the last hope of making Reigns eventual victory seem great if he beats Sheamus. Sheamus cashed in his MITB contract successfully and hence became The Authority’s new man.

Seriously, just like Del Rio, nobody at present cares about Sheamus. It’ll be interesting if Sheamus actually flourishes under The Authority.
