WWE TLC 2014: 5 Things that could ruin the Pay-Per-View

The sixth annual TLC pay-per-view is just days away and the WWE has been making their last minute arrangements to make sure that it doesn’t sink. It would be incredibly hard to follow up the success story of Survivor Series but even if they don’t reach that level, the company could certainly avoid screwing up big time.Filled with nine solid looking matches, the card has all the potential to have a happy ending but still there is a lot of work done from the booking team.A plethora of things need to be kept away when the party hits Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio on Sunday and here is a rundown on those must avoid booking decisions.

#5 No big returns

A lot of potential big name returns have been lined up for TLC. The fans could see Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, Sheamus, Rey Mysterio or Bad News Barrett make a surprise return on Sunday and what if none of them show up? Too bad right?

Well, with such big names at their disposal on Sunday, the company could pull off some really big shockers and make sure that the fans go home happy.

On the flip side, they could just sit back and let everything wait for Royal Rumble. Stars returning in Rumble is a tradition but that is not going to single out the impact that a particular superstar could cause. Orton returning at Rumble as a mere contestant among 29 other superstar and individually ripping apart Rollins at TLC has a huge difference doesn’t it?

#4 WWE playing it PG

Tables, Ladders and Chairs, the first thing that probably comes into the mind of a wrestling fan when they hear these words would be the legendary tag team matches that happened back in the Attitude Era.

This matches were career shortening but the willingness of the superstars to take risks is what made them stand out. There weren’t any blood involved in most of the encounters back then but even after that, the company has toned down the ‘risk’ factor in TLC matches when they entered the PG Era.

TLC is synonymous with risk and excitement and the last thing fans would want is these two factors missing at the pay-per-view. Names like Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are capable of pulling off some insane spots and this will only happen if WWE allows them.

#3 AJ getting buried again

Survivor Series saw one of the worst defeats in AJ Lee’s career. She barely lasted a minute in between the ropes before Nikki Bella pinned her and many are of the opinion that she was paying the price for CM Punk walking out on the company.

AJ recently accepted the Diva of the year Slammy and gave a heartwarming speech about how she changed the division which wasn’t taken seriously. Seeing a diva of such quality getting buried for someone like Nikki Bella is something that should not be repeated.

If the writers are heading to TLC with a similar booking in their mind for the former Divas Champion, AJ would be better off quitting the company just like her husband rather than sticking around.

#2 Bray Wyatt Dean Ambrose match not main eventing

This match was heavily overshadowed at Survivor Series due to the importance of Team Cena vs. Team Authority clash, but this time around, at TLC, there is nothing that could stop these two from stealing the limelight.

The amount of time given to work out the feud has definetly done wonders for both men as they head into to Sunday with the hottest buildup from the lot. Since there is not championship up for grabs in the match it will all be about knowing who the bigger monster is.

WWE doesn’t have a better match than this on their TLC match card which automatically makes it worthy of headlining the show. If this doesn’t happen, they are probably going to go with the Rollins – Cena one which will end up as a big mistake.

#1 John Cena cleanly winning against Seth Rollins

Not only should the John Cena – Seth Rollins match headline TLC, it should also not end with Cena getting a clean win.

The Cenation leader’s number one contender ship is on the line on Sunday and this makes him the clear cut favorite for the clash. Though it would be great to see Rollins get a big win at the expense of Cena, we all know how the WWE runs.

So Rollins losing the match is a sure shot prediction but WWE could make it look less painful. The Randy Orton factor could be bought in as an interference factor which in turn will protect Rollins. If that doesn’t happen, Cena will bury another great young talent with the same shovel he used to bury the lights of Wade Barrett, Zack Ryder and Alex Riley.
