#10 Sacrifice at the Rumble

This is the moment that led Mabel to become Viscera. Place yourself in the era of the Ministry of Darkness and we’ll begin our list with the man of many blackout moments. At the Royal Rumble the Ministry made another performer join their alliance.

This is all in the realm of the Supernatural.The crowd was on its feet as the Undertaker’s music hit and he made his way with Paul Bearer. Mabel was the sacrifice that the Ministry was talking about for so long.

#9 A Debut

The King in ECW

Once upon a long, long time Jerry Lawler and Tommy Dreamer were embroiled in a feud where Dreamer was the ECW loyalist and Jerry Lawler was more WWE- oriented. So, in 1997, it was quite a shocker to see something unravel.

The lights went out, as is the theme in this slide, during a match that involved Dreamer, RVD and Sabu and when the arena lit up again, Jerry lawler was in the ring with a microphone announcing his arrival.

Rhino is a gimmick which displays the use of tremendous strength. He isn’t called The Gore for any silly reason. He was tailormade for the realm of ECW. Now, who could we possibly have face a force like Rhino.

And there’s Sabu.

#7 Spooky

Now, back to the fantasy, supernatural theme.But if there’s anyone in recent times to still make kayfabe survive a little more, it’s the makers of the Bray Wyatt character. The guy is still spooky and eerie and unnatural in most situations. When the lights go out, he’s like the second coming of The Undertaker.

How else was he able to enter the steel cage during the Hell In A Cell main event between Rollins and Ambrose? He came through a hologram.

Well, that began a pointless feud with hardcore stipulations.

#6 Whole wide world in his hands

There is no doubt beyond doubt that the build up to the Bray Wyatt- John Cena match for Wrestlemania 30 was better than the match itself. It had possibly the most intriguing build up. Just go back and watch their promo video for WM and feel the excitement.

One of the build up moments was a blackout moment for Cena. During a match against Luke harper, the arena went dark and the next thing we see is Cena in the sheep mask.

Spooky.

#5 The Brood

Well, let’s talk about The Brood.

The Brood was a tag team consisting of Edge and Christian and Gangrel.

This was a vampire gimmick. Can you believe that? Well, they once feuded with The Acolytes and when the lights go out, all you see is their opponents covered with blood.

This was one of the trademarks of their gimmicks. The blood bath was synonymous to them being, of course, vampires.

#4 Believe that

The Shield is no stranger to blackout attacks. This so happened to be on the Rock. The Rock was a bit injured after the triple powerbomb that he took. He was spitting blood.

So, basically, the Shield led this attack during the feud between Punk- Rock. They would interfere again but none of this would hold The Rock back from winning the WWE Championship.

What was interesting was watching cousins Roman Reigns and The Rock go on against each other.

#3 The Undertaker, again

This is how visually stunning professional wrestling can be. These days when the gong hits, signalling the Undertaker’s return, and the lights go out, you expect the Undertaker to stand in the ring when the lights do come back.

WWE pulled off a stunner. CM punk is celebrating his victory over Jeff Hardy with Hardy lying their lifeless. The lights go out. Gong hits and the Undertaker is nowhere near standing in the ring.

Well, he merely replaced himself with Hardy.

He rose up and delivered a chokeslam.

#2 It\'s Sting!

This is the moment you knew Sting will make an appearance. The Authority is about to gang up on Randy Orton and next thing we hear is the shriek of theraven. Lights go out for a while, Sting is right there in the ring besides Orton when the lights come back.

They clear out the ring. Later Orton speaks about how cool sharing the ring with him was and then we hear Sting speak for the first time in the WWE.

#1 Kane

No debut can be as spectacular as that of Kane’s. This happened after weeks of build up during the feud between Paul Bearer and Undertaker with Bearer threatening to reveal Taker’s biggest secret.

Kane’s entire debut was like poetic justice. The PPV was named Badd Blood: In Your House. This represented the entire bad blodd between two brothers. This was an explosive way to debut.

During taker’s match with HBK, the blackout happened to lead Kane come out to his iconic music and deliver a tombstone to his half- brother.
