WWE: Top 5 Characters of The Week - July 26, 2014

We have to admit, this week of WWE programming has been more stellar compared to any other week. And that is precisely because many characters are taking shape in the main roster. This highlight of this week was the development of many characters and the way they play it. It can certainly go either way considering the future but for now they are doing a great job. Here are the top 5 characters of the week

#5 Stardust

This is probably the third nost noticeable gimmick he has had in the WWE and he was great in all his past gimmicks but the WWE never seemed to take advantage of that. And the moment I saw Cody become Stardust, I was apprehensive that this might be his advent into the comic relief section of the programming, I still am but I can’t deny the fact that he plays the character with so much dedication, it’s hard not to be enthralled.

Two years ago, there were many in the industry including Jim Ross who thought Rhodes is a future World Champ. It’ll be fascinating to see Rhodes succeed and claim that future with this gimmick.

#4 The Miz

Miz is back to being a heel. Not just any heel but the kind of heel that got him to become the topmost superstars in the WWE a few years ago. he is back to being arrogant, conceited, snobbish and also funny. His interaction with Bo Dallas looked promising. they could really have a feud which will be great for Dallas who needs to make a jump from the comedic segments.

His antics have also made the feud around the Intercontinental Championship even more bettwe

#3 Cesaro and Dean Ambrose

Okay, I am not exactly happy to see that Cesaro and Heyman have split but for the time being it is better fo Heyman to manage just Brock Lesnar.

Anyway, Cesaro and dean Ambrose had two great matches in one single solitary week. Their match on Smackdown was the best singles match on Smackdown in ages. Ambrose lost Monday’s match by disqualification. Nobody saw it, the manner in which he disqualified himself, coming. That symbolizes a lot of what his gimmick is- of a loose cannon. Cesaro looked formidable in each of his matches. And him becoming a part of the Authority can be a great rebound for Cesaro

#2 Stephanie McMahon

Stephanie Mcmahon has been the highlight of every Raw ever since she turned heel. this week she was arrested and the crowd erupted into a song. The same song Stephanie sang for Vickie weeks ago and what CM Punk once sung for John Lauranitis.

That was an incredible segment. The ‘police’ took their time to handcuff her and the segment might have been more enjoyable to the TV audience as we got to hear Stephanie speak and it was hilarious at times. This angle and the response to it clearly shows that her feud with Brie Bella should continue.

#1 Paul Heyman

What can I say? I mean, what more can I say about his stellar promo on Monday. He completely owned the moment. That promo alone might have sold many tickets for Summerslam and it is hard not to believe that Lesnar can become the new champ after what happened at Wrestlemania.

Regardless, Heyman has set the bar quite high as far as the feud between ‘The Beast Incarnate’ and ‘The Dr. Of Thuganomics’ go. It’ll be a task to top that but after breaking the Undertaker’s Streak, Brock Lesnar seesm to be the most formidable opponent for Cena’s titles.
