WWE Top 5 Rumors of the Week and Analysis: 15 November, 2015

Rollins might face Triple h when he returns

WrestleMania plans in place for Cena?WWE's struggle to cope with the injury of Seth Rollins was the main theme in the professional wrestling business last week. The WWE Championship tournament kicked off and some surprising and not so surprising superstars progressed into the next rounds. But crowing a new champion to replace Rollins is only half the problem solved.WWE needs to make long-term plans to survive in the situation and this stirred off a string of rumors on the internet. From the WrestleMania opponent of John Cena to the return plans for Seth Rollins, there were some interesting speculations in the rumor mill. And as always, here is the pick from the lot and their analysis.

#5 Return plans for Seth Rollins

Rollins might face Triple h when he returns

While Seth Rollins is out of action for around six to nine months, WWE is already planning for his return.

The actual plan for Rollins was a WrestleMania 32 showdown with Triple H, but since Rollins is now out of action, WWE is trying to lure in Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson to face Hunter. Rock's appearance, however, is highly unlikely for the event, which comes as a huge blow for WWE.

As far as Rollins is concerned, he is expected to return and go directly into a feud with Triple H. The idea is to put over Rollins as a baby face and the feud is expected to keep Rollins in the main event scene immediately following his return. The match will most probably happen at next year's SummerSlam.

#4 Good news for Brock Lesnar fans

New Deal and more dates

Brock Lesnar was the protagonist of another major rumor this week.

With the company suffering from the absence of big names like John Cena, Seth Rollins, and Randy Orton, Vince McMahon has apparently agreed to a new contract with Lesnar which will see him work more dates. There is no confirmation on the same, but considering the situation that WWE is in, it is a possible decision.

Lesnar working for more dates is clearly a good news for both the company and the fans. He recently wrapped up the feud with Undertaker so he will need a new opponent when he returns to television as well.

#3 WWE superstar to make a return soon

Goldust is set to return

While a list of WWE superstars are sidelined due to injury and other reasons, WWE fans do have a good news coming their way.

Goldust, who was sidelined for months due to an injury is expected to make a return to the WWE programming soon. The plans for Goldust is still not clear but he is not expected to get into the main event scene. The tag team division or the mid card title scenario is a good possibility for the veterans.

We still haven’t got the much expected Stardust vs. Goldust feud so it would be another great path for WWE if they want Goldust to be relevant once he returns.

#2 Batista and WWE

WWE is trying to lure in Batista

After the successful outings with Guardians of the Galaxy and Spectre, Batista is out looking to cement his place in Hollywood.

WWE, on the other hand, is looking to bring in the Animal to have a spell in 2016. The initial plan was to have Batista feature from Royal Rumble up until WrestleMania. The Royal Rumble plan was scrapped as Batista will be busy with his film commitments during the time.

Vince McMahon is pushing to land Batista for WrestleMania 32 despite the setback and if it happens, it might well be the retirement match for Batista. No news on who his opponent is going to be but the names of Steve Austin and Brock Lesnar are in the mix.

#1 WrestleMania Opponents for John Cena

Reigns vs. Cena?

John Cena returning early due to the unexpected injury of Rollins is apparently not happening. Instead, WWE has turned their attention to booking Cena for WrestleMania.

Two names are currently considered for the slot. The first one is Undertaker. Taker's streak might be long dead, but a Cena vs. Undertaker match is sure to draw big time if its booked for WrestleMania.

Roman Reigns is the second superstar considered to face Cena. If WWE goes ahead with this plan, it will be for the WWE championship with the match acting as a torch-passing moment to put over Reigns. All these plans can change as nothing is locked in as of now.
