WWE Top 5 Rumors of the week and analysis : 2 August, 2015

Daniel Bryan

Brock LesnarThe crap storm about Hulk Hogan almost settled down this week. There were still some debates going on here and there about Hogans racial rant but all that were put to bed by the untimely passing away of Rowdy Roddy Piper. The WWE Universe is still pretty much in shock about the death. Pipers legacy will live on forever no matter what. While fans were paying their tribute to the Hot Rod, the rumor mill was buzzing about some interesting speculations. There were talks about SummerSlam, random pushes and the future of other wrestling promotions. As usual, here is a rundown on them and the way in which they could impact the WWE landscape on the longer run.

#5 Daniel Bryan\'s status

Daniel Bryan

WWE is apparently cautious about Daniel Bryan. They dont want him back in the ring anytime soon but they are planning to keep him busy till then. There are rumors making the rounds about Bryan being fit by end of the year but nothing is confirmed.

Last week, the rumor mill came up with the idea of Bryan returning in time for Royal Rumble, which sounded like a horrible idea considering how Bryan was responsible for messing up the last two editions. As far as keeping him busy is concerned, WWE will continue using Bryan for Tough Enough and Total Divas. He might get an on-screen role as well till he is able to wrestle again.

#4 TNA and Ring of Honor in trouble

Dixie Carter

The wrestling business seemed like a better place when TNA and Ring of Honor went on to secure television deals with Destination America. Although, the network was not big as the ones WWE had, it was still some sort of competition for WWE. This competition, however, is all set to die off. Destination America is planning to exit the wrestling business and they are going to drop both TNA and Ring of Honor at the end of this year.

Both promotions will be network hunting by then and unless they find some big deal down the road, it could be a big disappointment for the fans. And for TNA, it will be a matter of survival.

#3 Brock Lesnar to make another big appearance

Brock Lesnar

After the success of Beast in the East, WWE is all set to pull off another live show featuring Brock Lesnar. This time, the show is expected to happen in the legendary Madison Square Garden on October 3. There are no updates on which superstar Lesnar will face if he shows up but it is likely to be a big name unlike the last time around.

WWE is also trying to have Lesnar in more live shows like this and they will be promoting them as Network Exclusives to get more subscribers. Either way, Lesnar working more days is always a good news for the fans.

#2 Plans for Lana dropped

Lana

There were plans for making Lana the new face of divas division. Splitting her away from Rusev and turning her into a baby face was part of this plan. However, those plans are apparently dropped right now. The officials are not high on Lana anymore and they are looking for a Latin women wrestler who could take forward the division.

WWE is reportedly in search for a diva that fits the description. Meanwhile, they are also happy about the improvements that Eva Marie made but she is expected to stay in NXT for some more time so that she can improve further before making it into the main roster.

#1 Sting and Stephen Amell to team up?

Sting

Amidst the rumors of Sting being dropped from SummerSlam, another rumor has perked up about his appearance. Initially, WWE was planning to include Sting in the Roman Reigns – Bray Wyatt feud alongside Luke Harper and Dean Ambrose. This was dropped for some reason and WWE is now looking to have a tag team match involving Sting.

Sting might team up with Stephen Amell from Arrow to face Miz and Stardust. The reason behind the team is because both Amell and Sting are vigilantes. It is just a rumor and since plans are always changing, we can never know what will happen until WWE actually pulls it off.
