WWE Top 5 rumors of the week and analysis: 29 November 2015

Sami could be returning soon

Undertaker vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 32?The chaos surrounding Survivor Series is still settling down slowly. This transition, however, was not a hurdle for the speculations that stormed rumor mills. Fans, who saw the WWE’s landscape shifting at Survivor Series, managed to hear some interesting rumors about WrestleMania 32, the title reign of Sheamus, and some big returns.Just like all the weeks that have gone by, these are mere rumors and could or could not materialize in the longer run. But despite the fifty-fifty odds, we are going to list down the best rumors and dissect them to know how they could impact the WWE scenario. So here are the top WWE rumors of this week and their analysis.

#5 Rumored returns

Sami could be returning soon

The return of Sami Zayn and Hideo Itami was being discussed throughout last week. Sami is currently advertised for the UK tour of NXT and this could be a direct indication of his return. Sami was out for several months due to an injury and his return to the NXT roster will be a great boost for everyone.

With a lot of injuries plaguing the main roster, Sami could get a call up as well if things go in his way.

Meanwhile, former wrestler Funaki was seen back in WWE last week which added fuel to the return rumors of Hideo. Hideo is expected to be back in the performance centre soon and it wouldn’t be long before he returns to active in-ring action in NXT.

#4 Why Lana is in the Performance Center

Lana is in performance center for workout only

Contrary to popular belief, Lana is in the performance centre for simply working out. There were rumors about WWE making her train to become an in-ring talent, but apparently that is not the case.

The wrist injury of Lana is all healed up and she was cleared for making non-wrestling appearances in WWE. However, the company decided not to go with her and made Rusev return alone.

According to the rumors, there is some huge heat on Lana in the company and her exclusion from Rusev angle suggests the same. The future plans that WWE has in store for her is still a mystery and the only thing we could do is wait and see.

#3 Stephanie McMahon back on television

Stephanie is going to be a major character moving forward

Stephanie McMahon had been away on some time off from television for her Eisenhower Fellowship. She is, however, expected to be a major character in the Authority storyline heading into WrestleMania. Once Stephanie wraps up her commitments, she will be seen week in and week out for Raw.

Having a performer like Stephanie at their disposal every week is clearly going to help WWE at this current point where they have a string of unavailable superstars. Stephanie might be playing a role similar to what she played in the Daniel Bryan angle with the only difference being Roman Reigns in place of the flying goat.

#2 Royal Rumble and Sheamus

Sheamus might drop the title at Royal Rumble

The cash in of Sheamus was probably WWE’s way of getting the Money in the Bank Briefcase out of the way heading into WrestleMania. This is because WWE has plans of taking the title away from Sheamus at Royal Rumble.

Although many are expecting the title reign of Sheamus to end at TLC, it might not happen.

WWE is indeed planning to crown Reigns as the champion in a big way, but it won’t be happening in TLC. Reigns could win the title at Royal Rumble and Sheamus might get his rematch at Fast Lane.

This is supposed to end the Sheamus storyline and set up a big match for Reigns at WrestleMania against none other than Triple H. More on this on the next slide.

#1 WrestleMania 32 matches

Undertaker vs. John Cena

With Seth Rollins, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Sting and Cesaro out of WrestleMania, WWE is planning to come up with some interesting matches for the show. One among that is the battle between Reigns and Triple H for the WWE championship. Reigns is expected to win the title from Sheamus at Rumble which in turn will set up this showdown.

Another major match rumored for the show is Undertaker vs. John Cena. The dream match between Taker and Sting is apparently called off due to the physical condition of Sting and the new plan is to pair Cena with Taker.

Despite not appearing in a wrestling capacity, Sting could show up at WrestleMania for some segment.
