WWE Top 5 Rumors of the Week and Analysis: 3 May, 2015

For some reason or the other, the rumor mill was a bit on the slow side this week. Despite the pace, there was enough speculation out there worthy of making it into the weekly list of top rumors.Daniel Bryan, for the third week in a row, has made headlines mainly due to the injury and as each week pass by, it is getting worse for him. Other wrestling promotions finding their foot in the business proved to be another major rumor from the past seven days as WWE is clearly feeling the heat.Last but not least, the WWE Universe is in for a big surprise at SummerSlam. So cutting the suspense, here is a look at the top five rumors of the week and their analysis.

#5 New competition for WWE?

For the ones who still have no idea about what Global Force Wrestling is, it is a new promotion started by Jeff Jarrett (the same guy that came up with TNA). Jarrett jumped into the venture back in time of WrestleMania 30, but a lot of problems kept him from making any big movements in the industry.

This, however, changed last week as Jarrett is out there scouting talent. Some of the names linked with the promotion are Eric Bischoff (the guy who almost ran WWE out of business, in case you forgot), Team 3D, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Masters, and Jim Cornett. A lot of TNA stars are also expected to jump the ships soon.

While GFW is growing up to be a competition for WWE, TNA has strengthened their arsenal by recruiting lead television writer Billy Corgan. Along with this, Dixie Carter is keeping a close relationship with Steve Austin. Things are not looking good for WWE at the moment and we might get to see the competition gather strength in the coming months.

#4 Bray Wyatt Bo Dallas relationship to be acknowledged

The real life relationship between Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas is yet to be acknowledged by the WWE and this might change in the near future. Before Bray revealed that Ryback was his new opponent, Ryback had destroyed Bo Dallas on two separate occasions.

As things stand now, there are no motives for Bray to go at Ryback and Bo is likely to be pulled into the mix. Bo also has been sporting a beard recently, which further fuels the possibility of the brothers teaming up once again down the road.

Bray and Bo was tag team champions back in FCW, which till the day, remains as Bray’s only championship run. If it happens, it is sure to be a big boost to the tag team division that lacks depth now.

#3 WWE planning to take the Intercontinental title away from Bryan

Daniel Bryan skipped Extreme Rules due to injury and though he was nowhere in Chicago for the night, WWE waited till the last moment to announce the same. The Flying Goat was pulled out from all the live events after this and is most likely to miss Payback as well.

With Bryan’s status still up in the air, WWE is planning to take the title away from him. There are currently rumors of WWE kick starting some kind of tournament to determine the new champion but all this will only materialize if Bryan’s return will be delayed. If the title is stripped off Bryan, it will be a big blow for everyone involved as WWE had big plans for him.

#2 WWE desperate for Stephanie McMahon vs. Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania

After what went down between Stephanie McMahon and Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 31, the WWE was almost sure about the two facing off at WrestleMania 32. They were so sure that they even made the promotional video for the same.

All these dreams came crashing down when UFC President Dana White made it clear that Ronda Rousey’s appearance in WrestleMania was a one and done deal. WWE is apparently not happy with the reaction of White and are still desperate to pull off the bout.

As far as Ronda is concerned, she is pretty much interested in working for WWE one day but her contract with UFC might not make it possible in WrestleMania 32.

#1 Brock Lesnar will not win the Title back at SummerSlam

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are scheduled to return back to the WWE program in July and will build up a match involving Seth Rollins for SummerSlam. However, contrary to the popular belief, Brock Lesnar will not walk out of SummerSlam as the WWE Champion.

The first possibility is Rollins retaining the title with some cheap ending or by pinning Roman Reigns if it is a Triple Threat match. The other possibility is Roman Reigns winning the Money in the bank and then cashing it successfully on Lesnar, after the Lesnar – Rollins match.

No matter what happens, WWE has no plans of letting Lesnar be a long term champion anytime soon, so there’s that.
