Top 5 WWE Rumours of the week and Analysis: 19 April, 2015

The internet has been speculating all week about the wrestling business and since it’s Sunday, we are going to pile up all the best rumors from that list and dissect them one by one. Hulk Hogan’s new wish and the future plans for WWE Hall of Fame were the most prominent rumors from last week while there was also some talk about Daniel Bryan’s current condition. The future of Kevin Owens in the WWE was another big rumor that came out this week and just like always, here is a complete analysis on what the entire buzz is about and how all these rumors could affect the WWE landscape on the longer run.

#5 Daniel Bryans career hanging in the balance

Daniel Bryan’s health condition was one of the heated discussion topics last week and from the looks of it, Bryan is struggling. It was the same problem that he had after last year’s WrestleMania and there are also rumours of him never recovering properly from that lay –off in the first place.

Bryan was supposed to face John Cena on Raw last week but was pulled off due to bad health condition. WWE has been protecting him in the lie events as well and they are expecting him to be ready for Extreme Rules, where he will defend his Intercontinental championship against Bad News Barrett.

Although, this might be a temporary solution, Bryan’s career is threatened big time by this injury. Toning down his wrestling style or completely retiring would be the only way to keep him safe.

#4 Hogan wants a retirement match

Hulk Hogan’s desire to have another match in the WWE is no secret and the rumors about the same picked up pace this week. Hogan currently wants to have his retirement match to take place at WrestleMania 32 and though it might sound ridiculous, that’s the bottom line.

If WWE allows Hogan to have this match, there are a lot of factors that they will have to address. One among that would be the opponent for Hogan. WWE simply cannot put the WWE champion into the mix and needs to find something credible at the same time. Secondly, Hogan being medically cleared for a full pay-per-view match is a long shot.

But most importantly, Hogan has been retired for a long time hasn’t he? so what is the point of a ‘retirement match’ in the first place?

#3 Kevin Owens to remain in NXT till 2016

I’ve got some bad news (okay rumors) for all the WWE Fans out there who are expecting to see Kevin Owens in the main rosters soon. According to the internet, Owens is expected to stay in NXT for another year and will not be called up in the time being.

It will be a big blow for Kevin considering the amount of effort he had put into his NXT career so far. Despite the delay, WWE is apparently high on Owens as he has managed to impress quite a few names in the backstage including Triple H. if Owens steps up his game further in the NXT, he might get a call up sooner, which is also what the fans want.

#2 Taz linked with a return to WWE

With Taz’s departure from TNA confirmed, the rumors of him being signed up by WWE are making rounds in the Internet. It might be a long shot at things stand now, but it is a deal that could turn out true since WWE is not excited about Jerry Lawler being on Live television.

Now, WWE does have a habit of ignoring whatever happened in TNA and they are not known to sign recognizable ex-TNA talent unless, it is someone big as Hulk Hogan. This might work against Taz for the time being but as far as the fans are concerned, they would not mind seeing Taz back in the announcers table as they are already fed up with Michael Cole.

#1 Undertaker and Sting in next years Hall of Fame

There have been talks within the company about next year’s Hall of Fame class and the names of Undertaker and Sting have been thrown into the discussion. WWE might be planning to induct both the superstars next year and then allow them to have a retirement match on the WrestleMania night.

It might sound like an exciting prospect on paper but WWE will have troubles finding a perfect climax for the Undertaker vs. Sting match. Both of the superstars would not want to lose their retiring match and ending in a draw would turn out to be a big mistake.

Also, letting both men get into the Hall of Fame in 2016 is clearly wastage of star power since WWE could save one for next year.
