Top 5 WWE rumours of the week and analysis: March 29, 2015

Speaking about rumors amidst the WrestleMania fever might not look like a good idea but since most of these rumors have the potential to be a spoiler in the near future, let’s take some time out from the WrestleMania buildup for our usual dose of top rumors of the week and their analysis. The internet have been buzzing about WrestleMania over the past seven days and not surprisingly, almost all the major rumors that came out were directly or indirectly connected to the pay-per-view. It is hard to categorize these as spoilers at the moment but once the show is over, they might be.Without any further introduction, here is a look at the top rumors of past seven days and their potential impact on the WWE product and its fans.

#5 Samoa Joe in NXT

Ever since Samoa Joe’s contract with TNA ended, there have been a lot of rumors about his future. Many came up with the idea of Joe ending up in WWE while others claimed that he will stick to the independent scene with Ring of Honor and Japanese Promotions.

The rumors of Joe making it to WWE were buried for a while but apparently, the possibility is still pretty much alive. According to the Reddit User MetsFan4Ever who is known for giving pay-per-view spoilers, Joe has been telling his friends about a move to NXT.

If this does materialize, it would be a big improvement for the developmental territory and with the current roster they possess, we could see some high quality matches from Joe.

#4 Stone Cold Steve Austin may not appear at WrestleMania 31

Steve Austin and Rock were the two prominent names in the rumor mills when it came to making surprise appearances at WrestleMania 31. The rumor about Austin’s appearance recently took centre stage for some reason, but WWE apparently has no plans to use Austin at the pay-per-view.

The same applies for Rock but since there is a small possibility of the company building up a Rock vs. Brock Lesnar showdown at WrestleMania 32, the Brahma bull might have some say at the show.

As far as Austin is concerned, the fans would clearly love to see him and if WWE decides to change their mind, they could walk away with a legendary moment like the one they opened WrestleMania 30 with.

#3 Ric Flair to be involved in the Triple H vs. Sting match

In the earlier stages of the Sting vs. Triple H feud, Hunter was responsible for driving the feud forward in the absence of Sting. One of the angles they pulled off included Ric Flair in the middle and since Flair and Sting had a lot of history between them; it looked like an apt decision as well. ,

Flair and Hunter share some friction during the segment and it might have been only the start. According to the rumors, Ric Flair is going to play a role in the Sting vs. Triple H match at WrestleMania 31 and though there is no idea on whose side he will be in, Flair’s appearance will proved to be a game changer.

On a neutral perspective, bringing in Flair might take the spotlight away from Hunter and Sting but then again, we don’t know how good Sting’s condition is, so having a backup is always a good idea.

#2 Post WrestleMania plans

The post WrestleMania plans is as important as the buildup to WrestleMania. The Raw after WrestleMania 31 is expected to be a packed affair and we are bound to see some surprises in the show.

Sting and Undertaker locking horns in the weekly flagship show is the biggest possibility while there is a rumor floating about Rock vs. Lesnar confrontation. Sheamus is also in the books for a return as the company could find it hard to incorporate him into the WrestleMania scene.

Apart from this, WWE is planning to have some NXT call ups in the show. Adrian Neville and Finn Balor are the prime candidates for a call up and the way in which they will be used will make Raw a must see show.

#1 Possibilities for the main event

The Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns match is ‘the’ most unpredictable match of WrestleMania 31. Now the reason for this is Lesnar’s new contract with the company, if he hadn’t signed the new deal, we were bound to see a Reigns win but now that Lesnar is here to stay, it will be an edge of the seat affair.

The possibilities for the match are many. There are rumors about Lesnar turning face while Reigns will turn heel and become a Paul Heyman guy. Rollins cashing in successfully on Lesnar or Reigns is another major possibility.

Rock costing Lesnar his WWE championship at the pay-per-view, or a clean win for either of the superstars are the other rumored possibilities for the match.
