You might be living under a rock if you don’t realize how important social media has become for the WWE in its business model. It’s the one thing that has made the company take its female performers seriously after #GiveDivasAChance trended worldwide. Gaining an upper hand in this medium has been WWE’s priority for the longest time and it has done a lot to keep the product relevant 24/7. Some of its interactions involve tweeting, videos or engaging with the latest mainstream media news. Here are the top 5 best moments of engagement on social media by the WWE this week.

#5 Choose your Joker

One of the most menacingly iconic characters was in the news yesterday. Jared Leto’s look as The Joker for the Suicide Squad movie was revealed to a mixed reaction. Finn Balor immediately made something out of the occasion.

Balor has been famous in his career for his use of face paints, body paints etcetra. He’s a comic book fan and has adorned many spectacular get ups. One of them was that of The Joker and he put a picture of that up on his twitter account.

Now, you have the choice to decide which one’s more convincing.

#4 McDreamy and an Ambulance

The fans of Grey’s Anatomy were in a state of mourning after Dr. McDreamy Derek Shepherd was killed off in the latest episode of the series. He was trending worldwide and just when you thought the world of Grey’s Anatomy and WWE has no connection whatsoever, here’s what WWE did- they compared it to the Ambulance match between Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt. They thought that watching Dr. McDreamy die was as painful as the match between Ambrose and Wyatt.

Other than the ambulance, there is really no link between the series and this match, just by the way.

#3 Two Champions

Two of teh best heels in the WWE right were put in a photo together. No, it wasn’t photoshopped.

Kevin Owens, the best heel on NXT and Seth Rollins, the best heel on the main roster posed for a picture and that was good enough for the fans. Two great heels, two great performers, two great faces of the independent scene made that picture speak a thousand words.

We could all thank WWE for posting that on their facebook.

#2 Suplex City

WWE introduced and capitalized upon the newest trend that Brock Lesnar kicked off after Wrestlemania. They released a Suplex City Shirt.

This is legendary, actually. First he has that catchy music by FLV on that little line he uttered at Wrestlemania and then it’s become a chant and it seems that it will stay this way.

And now, aptly enough, WWE made a merchandise out of it. And it looks great and it definitely looks like it’ll sell like hot cakes.

#1 A Great comedian?

CM Punk has been known for his honesty and candour and if you go back to watching his interviews you’ll find clips where he’s telling the interviewer without any hesitation that he took his finishing move from a Japanese wrestler named KENTA. Now, we all know that Japanese wrestler as Hideo Itami.

So, on Twitter Punk replied to a tweet by Matt Jackson saying that what Jackson wrote was exactly what “was my formula. Sans the kicks. I'd never steal someone's finish.”

Hideo Itami quickly made a joke of his own tweeting how Punk is a ‘real comedian’ before hashtaging GTS.
