WrestleMania 31: 3 Possible Endings for Fatal Four Way Tag Team Championship Match

The curious case of WWE’s Tag team division will see another head-scratching addition at WrestleMania 31. The lazy creative team of WWE who doesn’t even bother to build a proper storyline for the division has thrown in four random teams into WrestleMania pre-show and named it the WWE tag team championship match. On paper, we are bound to see some talented names in the match. Tyson Kidd, Cesaro, Big E and the Usos thoroughly deserve to be in the Mania spotlight while the addition of Los Matadores raised some eyebrows. Ascension’s exclusion was another big surprise about the match. The booking is unlikely to change at this point of time so let’s take a look at the possible endings of the match.

#3 Going with the baby face theory, again

WrestleMania has always been a pay-per-view that favored the baby faces. There have been some great heel victories in the show’s history but in majority of the cases it was the babyfaces that came out on top. If WWE is going to rely on the same formula for the Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 31, then the Usos are the favorite to win.

They are the clear cut fan favorites in the match and the team winning would be accepted by the casual fans. The hardcore ones however, wouldn’t be happy as it takes the division back to square one with The Usos as the champions while the remaining teams will be trying to drag them down from the top.

#2 New day for New Day

WWE had big plans for New Day. This fact was evident from the vignettes that were prepared for the stable but for one reason or the other; things didnt turn out the way WWE wanted it to. New Day failed to evoke emotions among the fans despite being talented superstars and the entire stable went out of relevance in no time.

WrestleMania 31 will probably be WWEs best opportunity to bring New Day back into the spotlight. If New Day is given a tag team championship reign at the show, the booking decision is sure to rewrite their destinies and could give the team some longevity post Mania.

It will not be a climax that pleases the Internet wrestling fans but the next one is sure to bring a wide smile into their faces.

#1 Champions survive

Fatal Four way matches are nightmare affairs for defending champions. They could lose their championship without even being pinned and the odds will be stacked against them. However, despite the negatives, fatal four-way matches also provide an opportunity to go over big time.

Winning a match like this and retaining the championship will make the fans stand up and take notice. Letting Cesaro and Kidd do this would be the best booking decision WWE could do at WrestleMania. Everyone in the WWE Universe knows how deserving the duo is of the tag team titles, and taking it away from them at the pay-per-view could lead to some unwanted consequences.

After a well –fought match between the four teams, WWE could drive home the match with a Kidd – Cesaro win as it would be best for business.
