WrestleMania 31: Predictions and possible opponents for all the Champions

The Road to WrestleMania is an exciting prospect for the fans and the Wrestlers. However, there is a minority in the roster that has nightmares about WrestleMania. And we, out of a habit call them champions. The current crop of champions looks all set to go through this same old nightmare at WrestleMania 31. As things stand now, only one championship match has been booked for the pay-per-view and we are bound to see more additions as we travel further down the road. With just a handful of weeks away from the latest edition of WrestleMania, here is a look at the predictions and possible opponents for the current champions.

#5 Divas Championship Drops

Reigning Divas Champion Nikki Bella has been under the scanner for quite some time now. Her latest title defense came at Fast Lane against Paige and it was a cheap win at the end of the day.

The feud between Paige and the Bellas is nowhere near over and it might be the backbone of divas division heading into WrestleMania. However, another Paige vs. Nikki match would be hard for the company to sell. What they could do instead is bring back AJ Lee to some capacity.

Even if AJ won’t be able to wrestle in time for Mania, she could serve as a special guest referee for the match between Nikki and Paige. And if AJ is fit enough, then we could have a triple threat to decide new champion. In both cases, Nikki is the least favorite to keep the title mainly due to the fans backlash.

Possible opponents: AJ Lee and Paige

#4 Tag Team Championship Retains

The Tag team division is undergoing an interesting phase. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro picking up a win at Fast Lane was not expected and the result has certainly made matters more confusing for the fans.

Usos are the obvious challengers to get a WrestleMania match for the titles but at the same time, there are Ascension and Prime Time Players knocking on the door. The pick however will go to Usos due to the possibility of a mixed six person tag match.

The creative team is eager to include Naomi and Natalya into the whole angle and we might not see the tag titles getting defended at Mania. Now even if the title get defended, Cesaro and Kidd are unlikely to drop it at the pay-per-view.

Possible Opponent: Usos

#3 United States Championship Drops

The stock of the United States Championship was supposed to reach unprecedented height with a Rusev vs. John Cena feud. But after the first round at Fast Lane, the angle is turning out to be pretty lame.

WWE Universe didn’t buy the idea of Rusev needing a low blow to defeat Cena and this will force the company to be extra careful at WrestleMania. The problem about the storyline will be its predictability. Cena is going to win the match hands down and it would only be a matter of how he wins.

Putting the United States Title on Cena would make matters interesting post – WrestleMania. As far as the event is concerned, Rusev will end up having nightmares and Cena, well, he will have the usual of course.

Possible Opponent: John Cena

#2 Intercontinental Championship Drops

WWE announced that the Intercontinental championship will be defended in a ladder match at WrestleMania. The number of superstars involved in the ladder match is yet to be confirmed but we do know some potential names.

Dean Ambrose is an obvious choice to feature alongside Barrett as both men are having a sold feud. Dolph Ziggler is yet to get his proper rematch and this makes him another choice for the match. The best tease from WWE however came in the form of Daniel Bryan.

If Bryan is actually going to be in the ladder match, then WWE will have no other choice than letting him win. Anything less or anything more would result in the fans reacting abruptly just like they did at Royal Rumble.

Possible Opponents: Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan.

#1 WWE Championship Drops

The unstoppable beast locking horns with the Samoan Superstar will be the head liner of WrestleMania 31. Despite the huge amount of criticism from the WWE fans, Vince McMahon decided to go with Reigns vs. Lesnar showdown.

After the recent rumors of Lesnar walking out from Raw, the chances of him staying around in the company post –WrestleMania is pretty low. This could result in a clean win for Reigns at Mania and initiation of his Era in the company.

There is also a chance of Seth Rollins cashing in the Money in the bank contract at WrestleMania, but the bottom line is: Lesnar is going to drop his WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Confirmed Opponent: Roman Reings
