Indian squash ace Saurav Ghosal’s battle with his right foot will unfortunately keep him out of the PSA Tour for some more time. The World No. 18 announced on his Twitter account on Tuesday that he is being forced to pull out of the $25,000 MEML HKFC International 2016 to be played from May 25.

The 29-year-old, who was the runner-up at this event last year, had been seeded second for this edition. His withdrawal has promoted World No. 26 Leo Au to the seed left vacant by the Indian.

The national champion had twisted his right ankle during his first round match at the British Open in March. He attempted an early comeback to the Tour last month at the El Gouna International but it did not prove to be successful.

A consultation with doctors had led him to take a chunk out of his season for the corrective procedures and that made him pull out of the recently-concluded Asian Team Championships as well.

On a positive note, Saurav also said that doctors have been able to pinpoint the problem affecting his foot and remedial measures have already started.

Here are the two tweets from the India No. 1:

Despite Saurav’s absence, the HKFC International will see three Indian players in action. While Mahesh Mangaonkar will be playing in the men’s draw, Joshna Chinappa and Dipika Pallikal will vie for the women’s title.
