BIO: The England cricket team represents both England and Wales. it is governed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). It was previously under the ownership of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) until the year 1996. The first record of an All England team dates all the way back to 9 July 1739. In 1846 William Clarke formed the All-England Eleven. The first overseas tour occurred in September 1859 with England touring North America. The team is ranked second in the ICC Test rankings and ODI rankings, whilst they are placed four in T20 Internationals.
Engaland was one of the first teams to be granted teh Test status on 15 March 1877 and they gained full membership to the International Cricket Council (ICC) on 15 June 1909. England has played in a total of nine hundred and twenty nine matches, out of which they have won three hundred and thirty one games they have played. Around three hundred and thirty of them ended in draws. The England team are the current holders of the Ashes. Some of it's prolific players are: Graham Gooch, Alec Stewart, Kevin Pietersen, Michael Vaughan, Graham Thorpe, Andrew Strauss, Nasser Hussain, Ken Barrington etc.
