England Hockey Bio

The England men's national Field Hockey Team competes in almost all major international tournaments except the Olympics as the English players now compete at the Olympics as part of the combined Great Britain National Field Hockey Team.

England's best finish in the Hockey World Cup came in 1986 where they finished as the runners-up to champions Australia and the cup was held in London only. They won the bronze medal at the inaugural Commonwealth Games hockey tournament in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur which was repeated consecutively in 2014 at Glasgow and in 2018 at Gold Coast as well. Currently, the English team is placed at seventh position in the FIH Rankings, going into the 2018 World Cup.

They are also a consistent performer in EuroHockey Nations Championship where they have won a gold, a silver and seven bronze medals so far. They have also won a gold, silver and bronze in the six editions that have taken place of Sultan Azlan Shah Cup held so far.
