Mumbai, March 27 (IANS) A few lucky Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academies (MBTA) students will be able to watch Grand Slam champions Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams among others in action as they will be taken to Spain for the Madrid Open beginning May 4.

There, the students will take part in an eight-day camp which will include orientation, training and practice sessions. They will also have their skills tested through some match play and game specific simulations to perfect their techniques.

The students earlier in February made a trip to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship.

“We are always seeking opportunities to expose young tennis enthusiasts to the level of play and competition that would be expected of them if they need to go far in the game. It also provides a great deal of learning in a short period of time which is vital for their progress in the short term,” MBTA chief executive Gaurav Natekar said.

“We would love to see an increase in the numbers of participation this time around considering the extremely positive feedback that was received from the Dubai expedition.”
