US Open 2014: Federer's trick shot hits opponent in the back, gives everyone a good laugh

Roger Federer never ceases to amaze us. No matter where he plays or the opponent he is playing against, Federer consistently gives the highest level of entertainment to the spectators.

In his first round victory over Marinko Matosevic, the Swiss Maestro hit a ‘tweener’ that gave everyone a good laugh. A tweener is a shot hit between the legs and although extremely difficult to execute, Federer makes it look simple as ever.

Matosevic had hit the ball out and begun to walk back to serve for the next point, never expecting Federer to reach the ball, let alone make a shot. But just for kicks, the 17-time Grand Slam winner got to the ball with time to spare and hit a perfectly timed tweener that struck the retreating Matosevic in the back. A wide grin appeared on the face of Federer and Michael Jordan, who along with thousands of others, applauded the second seed’s wonder-shot.

Of course, since Matosevic’s shot was called out, he would’ve lost the point anyway. Still, it’s hard not to marvel at Federer’s sheer genius!

And this is not the first time that the 33-year-old has made this impossible shot look easy. Federer’s tweeners have graced the tennis courts for many years and have often left the opponents in awe of his greatness.
