India beat Korea 4-1 in their Davis Cup tie

Rohan Bopanna won his Singles tie on Sunday

After progressing through the World Group Playoff on Saturday, India completed formalities on Sunday, inflicting a 4-1 loss on South Korea on the final day of their Davis Cup tie in Chandigarh.

Rohan Bopanna started off things for India on Sunday, winning the first of the two reverse Singles tie against Hong Chung 3-6 6-4 6-4 to make it 4-0 for India. However, the whitewash that all Indian fans were hoping for didn’t quite happen as Ramkumar Ramanathan lost his Singles tie which helped the visitors salvage some pride as they take the flight back home soon.

India will play their World Group Playoff tie in September. Their opponent is not known yet.
