The Indian doubles duo of Rohan Bopanna and Saketh Myneni have defeated Hyung-Taik Lee and Lim Yong-Kyu of Korea in the critical doubles match of their second round Asia/Oceania Group I tie in the Davis Cup. This puts India one win away from securing a place in the World Group play-offs.

Bopanna and Myneni won 7-6 (4), 5-7, 7-6 (2), 6-3 to give India a 2-1 lead after Day One had ended for 1-1.

Playing together for only the second time in their career, Bopanna and Myneni displayed their full repertoire of skills against Hyung-Taik Lee and Lim Yong-Kyu to come up trumps in a tense four-setter. India are now on the verge of beating Korea for the first time in an away tie. The last time these two teams played was in 2013, when the Koreans beat India 4-1 in New Delhi.

India reached this tie after defeating Taipei 5-0 while Korea had got a bye in the first round as one of the top seeds.
