Novak Djokovic is ecstatic after his win on Sunday

World No.1 Novak Djokovic clinched the 2016 Miami Open on Sunday after beating Kei Nishikori in straight sets 6-3 6-3 in the final in Florida.

The 28-year-old Serbian suffred an early hiccup when he dropped on the opening game, but soon got back to his best, not allowing his Japanese opponent any roon or space to make inroads and marching his way to an opening set win in just 34 minutes.

The second set saw a similar story unfold as the reiging Australian Open champion provided very little opportunity for Nishikori, to come out on top, sealing the second set 6-3 to win his 28trh ATP Masters 1000 title.

That now takes the 10-time Grand Slam champion past Rafael Nadal for the most number of the ATP Masters 1000 titles. The Spaniarrd previously held the record with 27 titles with Roger Federer in third place with 24 titles to his credit.
