Swiss Maestro and Swiss Miss: Federer and Hingis are set to team up for the Olympics

In what would be a dream match for all Tennis lovers, Roger Federer is all set to team up with Martina Hingis for the mixed-doubles category in the 2016 Rio Olympics. The winner of 17 Grand Slam Titles, would team up with his fellow Swiss for one of the most coveted prizes in the history of sport.

"Federer will play with Hingis. It's decided," said Le Matin Dimanche in a report that listed the composition of the Swiss "probable teams" for Rio.

Federer, it learned, had declared to announce his decision on the prospective pairing with Hingis by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, in the Men’s doubles category, Federer would be competing alongside Stan Warwinka, who has 11 ATP titles to his name.

Switzerland’s Davis Cup captain Severin Luethi, who would also be leading his team in the Olympics, was reported to saying that they wanted to win all the medals at Rio.

"Why not?... We can always dream," he said.

Hingis, who has had a remarkable run with India’s Sania Mirza, winning as many as nine doubles titles together, which included the Wimbledon, and the US Open Grand Slam titles, has decided to partner Belinda Bencic, an emerging player, who already has over $2 million in earnings. Bencic would play mixed doubles with Warwinka, it has been reported.

Meanwhile, the Swiss Maestro, widely regarded as the greatest tennis player of all time, is no stranger to Olympic Gold, having taken the medal with Wawrinka at the 2012 Olympics in London.
