Indian campaign at Cincinnati ends as Mirza-Black crash out in second round

Cincinnati (US), Aug 15 (IANS): India's Sania Mirza and her Zimbwean partner Cara Black went down to Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain and Kazakhstan`s Yaroslava Shvedova in the second round of women's doubles at the Western and Southern Open here.

The fourth seeded Indo-Zimbabwean pair went down 3-6, 3-6 Thursday in the hardcourt tournament, which is a warm-up event for the US Open.

Sania and Cara had got a bye in the first round.

With Sania's exit, the Indian campaign here ended.

Fifth seeds Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek, who got a bye in the first round, were also knocked out from the second round of men's doubles by Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock.

Pospisil and Sock had also defeated the Indo-Pakistan Express of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi in the first round.
