New Delhi, Nov 25: Tennis star Sania Mirza said on Tuesday that it was extremely difficult for a woman to be a celebrity in India.

Asked by IANS how challenging it was for a woman to be a sportsperson and a celebrity in the country, Sania said: "It's very difficult to be a Sania Mirza in India."

Sania, who has been appointed the UN Goodwill Ambassador for the South Asian region by UN Women, was present at an event organised to mark the International Day To End Violence Against Women.
