When was the last time anyone saw Roger Federer smash a racquet? In fact, most people probably think he has NEVER done that ever since he started dominating the field back in 2004.
However, in a match against Novak Djokovic at the Miami Masters in 2009, Federer lost his cool on the tennis court. With the match having entered a decisive third set and Djokovic with all the momentum, Federer netted a half court forehand and simply could not control his anger at having missed such an easy shot.
Federer smashed his racquet and then, even more surprisingly, got booed by the Miami crowd. And what a smash it was too! The racquet got completely shattered with just one blow – such was the rage with which Federer struck it.
