Video: Roger Federer makes 5-year-old boy's day with kind gesture

Why are sportspersons adored by fans all across the globe? For the simple reason that, along with being exceptionally good on the field, they are equally humble off it as well.

Another example of a legend’s generosity was seen at the US Open on Tuesday when 17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer, considered the greatest tennis player of all time, came to the rescue of a young boy who was being crushed by the frenzied crowd at the Arthur Ashe stadium.

After Federer’s victory over John Isner in the fourth round, all the fans were jostling to get the autograph of the living legend when he noticed a young 5-year-old boy being crushed between the crowd vying for his autograph. Being the gentleman that he is, the Swiss ace asked the security to rescue him, and he also signed the young boy’s cap.

The young boy was also crying because Federer hadn’t signed the ball he was carrying. The World No. 2 certainly made the boy’s day by not only signing the ball but also giving him a hug.

This incident once again shows what a true gentleman Federer is!
