Vasek Pospisil took the hard way out in his first round match against Vincent Millot to come through in five sets. The 25-year-old,who is projected as the next big thing to come from Canada will look to progress to the third round in Wimbledon for the first time in his career.

  1. Angelique Kerber Vs Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova

Angelique Kerber looked in a hurry in her first round match against Carina Witthoeft as he double bagelled the German in just 45 minutes. Her opponent Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova came back from a set down to oust Mona Barthel.

Kerber reached the quarterfinals last year at Wimbledon before losing to eventual runner-up Eugenie Bouchard. Pavlyuchenkova leads the head-to-head 4-3, but three of those wins came in 2012-13 season on clay and hard courts.

Match Time: 4 pm IST.

  1. Rafael Nadal Vs Dustin Brown

2-time Champion Rafael Nadal is seeded 10 for this year’s Wimbledon Championships, but he looked in imperious form in his opening round straight sets win over Thomaz Bellucci. Dustin Brown is known for his big serves and the German took out Nadal at Halle last year.

The 30-year-old came through in his four sets against Yen-Hsun Lu in his first round match. Brown came into Wimbledon after losing to Nishikori in the fourth round at Halle. He could test Nadal in the early goings of the match, but the Spaniard has the firepower to overcome Brown.

Match Time: 9 pm IST.

  1. Andreas Seppi Vs Borna Coric

Another mouthwatering clash to look forward to as the experienced Italian Andreas Seppi will face the young Croatian Borna Coric for a place in the third round.

Coric displayed grit and determination in his tough five-set win over Sergiy Stakhovsky on Tuesday. The 18-year-old, who ousted Nadal at Basel last year can trouble Seppi with his serve and ground strokes. The Italian won in straight sets over Brydan Klein after his runner-up finish at Halle last month.

Coric will come out all guns blazing hoping to make it to his first appearance in third round here.

Match Time: Around 5:30 pm IST.

  1. Ivo Karlovic Vs Alexandr Dolgopolov

Ivo Karlovic is a dangerous opponent to face especially in the early rounds of a Grand Slam. The Croat hit a record 45 aces in his win over Tomas Berdych at Halle and Alexandr Dolgopolov will be wary of Karlovic’s serves in the second round.

Dolgopolov took out Rafael Nadal at Queen’s club and leads 4-3 in seven matches played against Karlovic. There could be a couple of tie-breaks in this match and expect games to get over fairly quickly as both players don’t waste much time on their serve.

Dolgopolov leads their rivalry 2-1.
