Para-athlete Raju Katawal crossing finish line to clinch gold

Para-athlete Raju Katawal won the gold in the First Nepal Para Triathlon Championship in the men’s category while Yami Jhakri Magar won the gold in the women’s category. Katawal clocked 13 minutes 42 seconds to clinch gold while Krishna Chaudhary finished second with a timing of 14 minutes 43 seconds and Anil Tamang claimed bronze with 16 minutes 58 seconds.

In the women’s category, Yami Jhakri Magar won gold with 17 minutes 43 seconds as Sonika Dhakal took silver with 18 minutes 29 seconds and Nirmala Karki took bronze with 25 minutes 40 seconds.

Nepal Triathlon Association with was the organizer of the first ever para triathlon championship in Nepal. Minister for Youth and Sports Ram Kumar Shrestha inaugurated the tournament while National Sports Council Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama and Nepal Triathlon Association (NTA) officials gave away the prizes to the winners.
