Undertaker vs Triple H, No Holds Barred Match, Wrestleamania 27

Exactly ten years after their first encounter at Wrestlemania 17, The Phenom and The Game met once again at the grandest stage of them all at Wrestlemania 27. This time, it was in a No Holds Barred match. Triple H became only the third man to face the Undertaker more than once at Wrestlemania – the other two being Kane and Shawn Michaels. The Undertaker had a phenomenal 18-0 Wresltemania streak under his belt heading into this match. He had beaten Triple H’s close friend Shawn Michaels in successive matches at the preceding Wrestlemania events.

Both Triple H and Undertaker have an uncanny knack of putting up the best show at Wrestlemania. They did no different this time too as their match stole the show and got recognized as the match of the year 2011. Undertaker won the match after forcing Triple H to submit to his Hell’s Gate submission move. But, unlike any other Wrestlemania match that he had been victorious in the past, The Undertaker did not leave the arena under his own power. He was battered and bruised and had to be helped on his way out of the ring. Simply put, The Undertaker won the battle but lost the war. This prompted him to ask for a rematch against Triple H at Wrestlemania 28, to salvage lost pride. Both men would then be involved in a match at Wrestlemania 28, inside the devil’s playground – ‘Hell in a Cell’, with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee.
