10 WWE Superstars with criminal records

Not every WWE arrest was a work

Over the passage of time, WWE’s seen its fair share of crime. Several of its top stars, Vince McMahon included, have had criminal charges leveled against them. While, in a lot of cases, the wrestling fraternity has gone out of its way to conceal these records from the fans, we at Sportskeeda have gathered some shocking facts and trivia about your favourite WWE stars, that you had no clue about.

So read on, and find out which superstars have had a criminal past.

Scott Hall

The ‘Bad Guy’ was a real bad guy

Before Scott Hall gained notoriety as Razor Ramon, he had been charged with second-degree murder. Of course, this was never proved and charges were subsequently dropped. But in 1983, he allegedly shot a man in the head for breaking his car windows, over a dispute that concerned a girl.

In his defence, Hall says that the man was reaching for a gun too. Since then, he’s been arrested several times for molesting a woman, driving while drunk, and drunken assaults. Shocking, isn’t it? In some ways, more shocking than his own alcohol and drug-fueled fall from grace.

Ric Flair

The Nature Boy had road rage issues

We’ve known Ric Flair for playing the cowardly, evil heel through his career. But what is truly shocking is the fact that he once spent a week in prison for a road rage incident. Not only did he grab another motorist by the neck, but allegedly kicked his door off completely.

What’s funny is that his on-screen feud with Edge took advantage of this real life incident, and an infamous parody video was made about the same.

Sunny

It’s always Sunny in prison

The shelf live for a diva in WWE is far lesser, than that of a superstar. Nobody holds more proof of this than Sunny, the original diva. After a remarkable (and Hall of Fame worthy) career, Sunny was arrested 5 times in the span of 4 weeks.

The fifth arrest was for burglary, only hours after being released regarding her fourth arrest. And yes, she’s been arrested since too. Today, she’s an adult film star and we hope it makes her enough money to stay out of trouble for good.

Kurt Angle

The Olympic Gold Medalist is known for driving under the influence

Kurt Angle is one of the most celebrated wrestlers of all time. Unfortunately, he has battled alcohol addiction through his life and has been arrested for driving under the influence on several different occasions. Once, he was also found drunk behind the wheel of his parked car.

One of the nicest guys in sports entertainment, this is one demon that has haunted Angle all his life.

Chyna

The Ninth Wonder of the World was booked for domestic battery
The Ninth Wonder of the World was booked for domestic battery

Chyna was one of the most celebrated female performers in history, but after her WWE run, her life fell into disarray. In 2005, she struck her partner X-Pac or Sean Waltman several times in the face, in front of his kids and was arrested for the same.

She was released by the cops, soon after, though.

Stone Cold Steve Austin

Even the biggest star of the Attitude Era has a criminal past

Remember the gorgeous Debra from the Attitude Era? Did you know that she was married to Stone Cold Steve Austin, and there were 3 instances of domestic violence through the time that they were together?

One of these led to his arrest, even though Stone Cold had fled by the time the cops arrived at the scene. After a judge issued a warrant for him, Stone Cold Steve Austin surrendered, 2 months later. Definitely, one of the ugliest moments in WWE history.

William Regal

William Regal was arrested for urinating on a flight attendant

While on a flight from Tokyo to the United States, William Regal got very, very drunk. So much so, that he left the door to the toilet open when he entered to urinate. When a flight attendant came forth to request Regal to close the door, William Regal turned around, urinated on her, and passed out.

The plane landed in Alaska, where Regal was taken into custody. NXT superstars better watch out. Don’t ‘piss’ him off.

Lex Luger

The Lex Express has been to prison, more than once

Lex Luger is one of the most beloved wrestlers of all time. But after his run in the 90s, Luger’s life went haywire. He was arrested for domestic battery of his girlfriend – wrestling legend Miss Elizabeth, driving under the influence, and after the untimely demise of Elizabeth, for the possession of drugs. He was sentenced to 5 years probation.

Scott Steiner

The Genetic Freak has been to prison several times

The first time he was arrested in 1998, Scott Steiner hit a road worker with his car after he was told that an exit ramp was closed. The second time he was arrested, he hit a genuine medical professional thinking he was part of the act.

And later, in 2005, he was arrested for causing a disturbance on a flight. Scott Steiner is a man who has not taken the law very seriously.

Booker T

Booker T was booked in prison for 19 months

As he revealed on ‘Legends with JBL’, Booker T has spent 19 months in prison for armed robberies at Wendy’s Restaurants. Booker was sentenced to 5 years in prison, but subsequently, was let go for good behavior after 1/3rd of his term.
