5 bookings that instantly boost the Hell in a Cell viewership and ratings

Just two weeks away

We are just two weeks away from the most physically challenging PPV in the WWE calendar, ‘Hell in a Cell’.

The most destructive structure where careers are shattered, stars are made, new champions are crowned and new eras in WWE are begun. Being a part of a ‘Hell in a Cell’ match in itself would be enough to glorify a superstar’s wrestling career. Such is the aura associated with this blockbuster annual PPV.

This is the first ‘Hell in Cell’ event after the WWE brand split. Yet another interesting thing here is that this year ‘Hell in a Cell’ will be a RAW exclusive PPV which means that stars like Randy Orton, John Cena and Bray Wyatt will be missed.

As part of this slideshow, let us have a look at 5 booking decisions that could help skyrocket the ‘Hell in a Cell’ PPV viewership and show ratings-

#1 Teasing Triple H’s presence at the event

What if the COO shows up?

There is one unanswered question on everyone’s mind today- Where in the world did Triple H go? He made a shocking appearance on RAW a month and a half ago and shocked the world with a double turn on Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Today, Roman Reigns was enjoying his US title reign while Seth is on the quest for his WWE Universal Championship. But there is some unfinished business between Triple H-Seth and Triple H-Reigns!

How about Stephanie teasing her husband’s return at ‘Hell in a Cell’ for some crucial announcement? You know what happens next- A huge roar from the WWE universe and then millions of eyes glued to their TV sets during the ‘Hell in a Cell’ event.

Also, that would set the tone for the future of this storyline which is rumoured to make big headlines during the WrestleMania 33 season.

#2 Create an opening bang

The ‘first time ever’ factor

A few days ago, the SmackDown exclusive ‘No Mercy’ PPV kicked-off with the main event for the first time ever in PPV history.

That was a huge success but the rest of the PPV went on a lighter note and the closing became a little dull. RAW could learn from the mistakes done by the sister-show and make up something very interesting for ‘Hell in a Cell’. How about opening the PPV with the first ever Divas ‘Hell in a Cell’ title match?

WWE could bank on the potential of the two women that are part of this match and generate an opening match with flair. WWE could also use the ‘More than Pink’ campaign to promote this match as the campaign is relevant to women.

#3 Surprise opponent for Braun Strowman

Is it gonna be Zayn?

Ever since the brand split, if there is one guy who hasn’t faced any opponent worth mentioning, that would be Braun Strowman. This mountain of a man was pissed a couple of weeks on RAW and asked the GM, Mick Foley to give him some real competition. But the GM went ahead and gave him two local wrestlers as opponents.

Strowman was not convinced and squashed both the local workers. On yesterday’s Raw he squashed three jobbers, when Sami Zayn walked out to stand up to the mammoth because ‘no one else would’ and a match between the two could definitely be great.

Things could be made interesting by announcing that Braun Strowman would face some ‘real’ competition at ‘Hell in a Cell’ and allotting 10 minutes of the PPV slot for this match would impress good numbers. Strowman is set to play the role of the ‘Big Show’ of the future and so, investing on this man wouldn’t do any harm.

#4 Eye-glaring US title match-

The ‘Game changer’

The best part of WWE RAW these days is the storyline between Roman Reigns and Rusev for the US title. The rivalry between these two men has turned into a very bitter one and neither of them can stand each other.

The inclusion of the US title into the mix and making it a match inside ‘Hell in a Cell’ added more beauty to this match. Two of the best physical workers in the squared circle facing-off inside the dangerous ‘Hell in a Cell’ is set to draw millions of eyes towards this match.

Creating hype in the weeks heading to the PPV about this match is a must for the success of this event. Establishing trust among the WWE universe that this match could last long and stand out as one of the best matches of the PPV could help WWE’s cause of selling the PPV like a hot cake.

#5 The Goldberg and Brock Lesnar face-off

One face-off between the two will blow the roof off

The biggest news among the WWE circles right now is the bout between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar. Whether WWE goes for or against this idea of setting up a match between this duo, the company could very well use this situation to their best advantage. The equation is simple-either we have a match or we don’t.

It doesn’t have to be a match, but why not set up a segment with Goldberg and Brock Lesnar at ‘Hell in a Cell’ and make a provision for discussion on the probability of the match happening? Such a segment could heat up things and provides some purpose for their meeting.

Lesnar and Goldberg at ‘Hell in a Cell’! Whoa! I got goose bumps!
