5 Feuds that we want to see on SmackDown Live

Cena vs. Corbin anyone?

The WWE roster was split thanks to the WWE draft. Instead of having one roster where the possibilities of feuds were many, now, the creative team has to work in a confined environment where they will be forced to come up with brand specific storylines. And though these brand specific storylines are going to double up the excitement and actual amount of stories in the WWE programming, it comes with headaches of its own.

The fans have already come up with some combinations that could be tried out in both the brands and in this list, we are going to take a look at those feuds that we would want to see on SmackDown.

Chad Gable and Jason Jordan vs. The Usos

For the top spot

The tag team division of SmackDown offers an interesting scenario. The brand might not have a tag team championship as we speak but it does have some interesting tag teams. The most standout teams from the brand are hands down The Usos and The American Alpha. These two babyface tag teams have what it takes to be the backbone of the division but then again, everyone needs to be clear about which team is on top, and that is where this feud comes to play.

Usos and American Alpha are two tag teams that are exciting to watch and a multiple pay-per-view feud will produce no complaints from the WWE fans.

Shelton Benjamin vs. AJ Styles

A step-down?

This is a feud that could excel solely on the basis of in-ring quality. It was announced that Shelton Benjamin will make his return to SmackDown and with the experience he has, it would make sense if WWE shoots him straight into the main event scene. For AJ Styles, it might be a step-down, considering that his recent feud came against John Cena. Also, Shelton is not the best when it comes to microphone work.

These two factors, however, could easily be overridden by the excellent matches that AJ and Shelton can put together. Despite this, the chances of this happening are low since WWE will most probably use Shelton as a mid-card attraction.

Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt

A full-fledged angle is what the fans want

The face-off between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt has been in the making for a long time. This feud was teased numerous times but due to one reason or other, it never got the full-fledged booking that it deserved. Now with the roster narrowed down and SmackDown in need of some eye-catching feud, this would be a good time for Orton and Bray to lock horns.

Orton will be busy till SummerSlam due to his showdown with Brock Lesnar, but after this, he will be looking for a fallout feud. Orton-Lesnar saga is not likely to extend beyond SummerSlam and this acts as a perfect slot for Bray Wyatt to fill in.

John Cena vs. Baron Corbin

Corbin needs some limelight

The lack of depth in the SmackDown roster was well evident during their first episode after the draft. In the six-pack challenge, WWE booked likes of Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin, which were superstars that barely got main event exposure in the pre-draft period. This move also underlines that WWE is confident about pushing these two with some extra highlight going to Baron Corbin.

He would’ve struggled if the brand split hadn’t happened, but now, he has more opportunities to rise up the ladder. And if there is anyone that could give him the limelight, it is John Cena. Corbin need not go out and win a feud against Cena, but being in the same ring with the Cenation leader is going to be a great leap forward.

Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles

A potentially phenomenal feud

The number of established main eventers in SmackDown is low but Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles are two names that feature in the list. This means that the collision of these two is eventually going to happen. Unlike the previous feud of AJ Styles, which was against John Cena, this could open the door for AJ to stamp his place as a top heel in the roster.

Going up against Cena always gave a positive reaction for AJ as the fans have a habit of supporting whoever is paired up against the Cenation leader. Ambrose, on the other hand, is treated more like a babyface by the WWE Universe which sets up the dynamics.
