5 Superstars who need to go back to NXT and 5 who need to be brought up to WWE

Bobby Roode may be the most over with the NXT fans as he's ever been.

In just a matter of weeks, we will close out 2016, and look into the New Year. With the New Year, comes new opportunities for the talent on all WWE rosters. From the current title holders to the NXT Rookies who have yet to make a debut, everyone will be looking for their respective opportunity to shine, and showcase their abilities for the world to see.

With that said, there are some Superstars that have already made their way onto one of the WWE main rosters, but for whatever reason, they're just not getting the love they may very well deserve. So, what are those who are repeatedly looked over in exchange for someone like James Ellsworth, supposed to do?

Looking at all three rosters, Raw, Smackdown and NXT, it's pretty easy to spot those who deserves better than they're being offered. They are doing nothing more than taking up valuable space when they could be used in a much more effective manner. So what needs to be done?

Well, with NXT still a viable brand, why not let some of those misused stars back down to NXT, elevate a few guys from the yellow brand and simply shake things up a bit?

This could be a change that benefits everyone involved. While the elevated stars from NXT get an idea of what the main roster grind is like, the others get to see if they can offer more to the developmental show, all while showing the creative teams what they could've been bringing on the main roster.

So, who goes down, and who comes up? I've come up with the following 5 superstars who may benefit from some time back in NXT, and 5 from NXT who are ready to step their game up to the main roster.

#1 UP: Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe has had a tremendous run in NXT.

Since arriving in NXT, Samoa Joe has experienced a rebirthing sort of process. Watching him during his final days with TNA, it appeared he had lost some of his desire for the business. It was obvious that a change was in order, and this change worked out flawlessly.

Like Asuka, Joe would have to drop his title as well, but I'm sure that's a sacrifice he's willing to make.

Joe, similar to Bobby Roode, has plenty of high-level success, as well as his fair share of world championship title reigns, including his unprecedented reign as ROH World Champion for 645 days. Joe has been in the ring with many of the top stars in the world.

Now it's time for the top WWE Superstars to see why Samoa Joe is the true Samoan Submission Machine.

#1 DOWN: Bo Dallas

It's time to go back to the basics of what made Bo so successful in NXT.

While in NXT, Bo Dallas was consistently the top talent on the roster. His unorthodox style was very intriguing, yet effective. Dallas was a tremendous performer, one who never disappointed when it came to delivering quality entertainment. Bo also held the NXT title for an impressive 280 days.

Once Dallas made it to the main roster, it was as if no one knew what to do next. Week after week, it appeared that the WWE creative team had forgotten what their job entailed. Nevertheless, Bo has tried to make it work, but there's only so much he could do with his hands being creatively tied behind his back.

Bo Dallas has a plethora of potential. The common WWE fan may not believe that, but I'd challenge you to watch his work as NXT Champion, and you'll quickly become a Bo-Liever. At this point, Bo has nothing to lose at this point, and an entire career to gain. Going back to NXT, and proving his worth once again, it may be the best option for him at this point.

#2 UP: Asuka

We've never seen a women's wrestler quite like Asuka.

Asuka has been one of the most captivating and intriguing Women wrestlers I've ever had the privilege of watching. It's been a long time since we've been privy to someone as technically gifted in the women's division as Asuka. Since becoming NXT Women’s champion, no one has been able to find the right formula to topple her and take her crown.

It's obvious that Asuka is destined for the main roster, but having her make the transition now, would potentially put her in a prime spot for a potential big match at Wrestlemania. The women's division has some great talent, but no one quite like Asuka.

Of course, a move to the main roster would mean dropping her title, but in the grand scheme of things, that's certainly a price worth paying for someone with a ceiling as high as Asuka’s.

#2 DOWN: Eva Marie

Just go away already.

Yes, she is still a member of the SmackDown Live roster. Why? I haven't the faintest of clues.

Eva recently violated the WWE Talent Wellness Policy, resulting in a 30-day suspension, but that was back in mid-August. I'm sure she'll be surfacing again soon, for all those who have missed her. Guys, I can't sugar coat this any longer. Eva Marie is quite possibly the biggest waste of a roster spot in WWE history.

She's been given all the tools and extra training needed to develop into something, yet she's still horrible. To be honest, I don't even think she's worthy of an NXT roster spot, but of course, she's needed due to the Total Divas nonsense.

I'm sorry if you don't agree with my opinion of her, but I just can't think of a single reason she should continue to hold a valuable spot hostage.

#3 UP: Bobby Roode

A Glorious main roster debut awaits!

I have a feeling that Bobby Roode is extremely grateful to be under a WWE contract right now. He just seems so comfortable in the NXT ring, and if you watch closely, you'll notice he's having fun for a change, which is something that didn’t happen in TNA.

Bobby Roode is a proven veteran, former world champion and more than capable of the main roster workload. On New Years Day, Roode will turn 40 years old. Combine that, with his accolades and the fact that he's been a professional wrestler for nearly two decades; it only makes sense to send this guy up.

Wrestling is becoming more and more a young man's sport, and father time will soon catch up with Bobby. So, let's let the guy show the world what he's got left on the big stage. I have a feeling we will all be pleasantly surprised.

#3 DOWN: Mojo Rawley

There's just something lacking with this guy. But he's HYPE!

Mojo Rawley is a very likeable young man. It's very obvious, especially upon meeting him, that he loves being a professional wrestler. He's a big guy, and yes, he possesses a few intangibles necessary for success in this business, but he lacks that ever elusive and always vital "it factor."

Mojo could very well have a lengthy career, but I sincerely doubt it can be on the main roster. It's just impossible to picture him as a champion, or for that matter, even take him seriously.

Mojo is an interesting guy, but I just have a hard time seeing him as a true contender on such a high level. Not to mention the whole Hype Bros ordeal is doing nothing more than holding Ryder back, in my opinion.

It all comes down to what makes sense, and as far as long-term potential, it's just appears the path with NXT would seem to be a more viable option for Mojo.

#4 UP: The Revival

The Revival offers a dose of old school brawling to the main roster.

Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder are as close to The Brain Busters that we'll ever see in professional wrestling. In an era of high flyers, outlandish gimmicks and all sorts of extra theatrics, The Revival is a simple team of hard-hitting, no-nonsense brawlers.

These two have remained true to their motto of "no flips, just fists," which just signifies their simple style of locking opponents up and taking them down. While NXT tag team champions, Dash and Dawson proved themselves to be one of the very best tag teams in all of wrestling today.

A trip to the main roster now, will only strengthen the division, as well as strengthen overall competition.

#4 DOWN: The Ascension

Viktor and Konnor dominated while in NXT.

Whether one wants to admit this or not, The Ascension is by far the most dominate NXT tag team champions in the history of the yellow brand. Viktor and Konnor were headhunters in NXT, feared and respected by everyone on the roster.

To this day, their reign of 364 days as NXT tag team champions, ranks them at the very top of the all-time longest reigning list for NXT. When they made the transition to the main roster, I was convinced that these guys would do fantastic, and dominate the division. Unfortunately, WWE creative had different plans.

Since making their main roster debut, The Ascension has been treated like a complete joke, when the reality is, they could be providing some very entertaining moments. At this point, it only makes sense to let them go back to where they had so much success, let them make their case while they dominate, all over again.

#5 UP: Shinsuke Nakamura

There's an exciting future in store for this guy on the main roster!

There is nothing about this guy's body of work that isn't near perfect. Shinsuke Nakamura was one of the best signings of the last 50 years, and since making his debut in NXT, Nakamura continues to only get better.

I've always been a huge fan of Japanese wrestling, but I've yet to come across anyone from the Japanese scene, with as much charisma and overall skill as Shinsuke Nakamura.

His performance at NXT Takeover-Toronto was another epic display of his unparalleled showmanship, as well as how graceful he can be in defeat. Now that he dropped the title to Joe, the door is wide open, no obstacles in sight. It's now time to let Shinsuke Nakamura shine on one of the main rosters.

#5 DOWN: Tyler Breeze

Tyler Breeze has so much more to offer the WWE Universe.

This is one that really frustrates me. Tyler Breeze is someone I feel should be in a much better position by this point. During his time in NXT, Breeze was consistently a number one contender for the NXT Title. Despite not winning the title, he was still one of the great performers, who made the whole NXT revolution the major success that it was.

When he was elevated to the main roster, I was really excited about what he would bring. Unfortunately, due to horrible creative and booking decisions, Tyler never got the opportunity to showcase what he could truly offer. A trip back to NXT might be what everyone needs.

This way, maybe someone with the power to make a decision will remember exactly what type of unique talent they have on their hands.
