5 WWE Superstars who might be released

Getting the axe?

WWE surprised everyone recently when they released a bulk of Superstars. While some of the names that the company released felt sensible, others like Damien Sandow and Wade Barrett made no sense at all. WWE apparently wanted to freshen things up with all these releases and from what we know, there could be more releases on the way.

The rumors about the upcoming releases are stronger than ever and the question here is: who all could be released next? In this we are going to take a look at some of the possible names that could come under the scanner and the reason why they could be released from WWE.

Adam Rose

In troubled waters

This is probably the least surprising name on this list. He was under the limelight back when WWE aired the E60 Documentary which showed Rose as a loving father and a hardworking husband. He did benefit from it, but things recently went bad for him as he was suspended for violating the wellness policy of WWE.

To make matters worse, Rose came out saying that he has a prescription for the drugs he used and claimed that he was clean. To rub salt into the wound, Rose was then arrested by the police for domestic violence forcing WWE to suspend him indefinitely. The future of Rose is still up for debate and a release seems imminent.

Alicia Fox

Alicia is a safe bet to be shown the door

When we take a look at the Women’s division in the WWE, there aren’t many superstars that WWE could afford releasing. However, Alicia Fox does not belong to that list. While names like Charlotte, Natalya, Paige, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks have managed to build a strong character and a solid fan base, Alicia has been struggling.

It could be because of the limited time that she gets on television, but then again, she is the safest release from the division as far as WWE is concerned. There is not going to be much of a backlash and as for Alicia, she could easily find a job elsewhere if released.

Mark Henry

Contract set to expire

Mark Henry has been a loyal performer for the WWE. He has been around the business for nearly two decades and has contributed big time to the promotion. Recently, however, Henry’s stock has taken a ridiculous dip. He barely gets time on television and when he does, it will probably be a randomly booked match rather than a storyline backed one.

The reason why Henry is in this list is his contract. Henry’s contract is going to expire soon and from the rumors, he has no intentions of renewing it. For a star like Henry, it wouldn’t be a hard job to find work elsewhere and he will have this in mind even if he is released.

Jack Swagger

Not much to do now

WWE did everything in their power to push Jack Swagger as a main event star. They made him win the Money in the Bank, they made him the World heavyweight champion, and they even gave him a solid push at times. But somewhere down the lane, Swagger failed to use this push to his advantage.

Along with this, Swagger suffered a lot of injuries as well which did him no good at all. Currently, Swagger is booked randomly here and there even though he gets a good pop whenever he comes out. The Real American gimmick has grown stale and there isn’t much that Swagger could do if he sticks around in WWE.

Ryback

All for money

Ryback has been getting on the nerves of WWE officials recently. He apparently had a contractual dispute with the promotion and was sent back home due to the same. Ryback then went on to have a public rant on his social media account and claimed that he was not happy with the remuneration system that WWE has in place.

The rumors suggested strong backlash at Ryback for the same, but as for now, WWE is yet to make a move. They could be waiting for the right time to settle the scores and Ryback could feature in the list of superstars that will be released next.
