WWE News: Austin Aries revealed to be the third commentator in 205 Live

The 205 Live commentary team

It was announced by @WWE205Live on Twitter, that The Greatest Man That Ever Lived, Austin Aries, would be the third commentator to join Mauro Ranallo and Corey Graves to call 205 Live:

Aries is out with an injury to the eye and recently revealed that he would need permanent Titanium plates covering the injured area.

What is interesting about the commentary dynamic is that Corey Graves, for the first time in his commentary career, is a face. Austin Aries is the heel commentator, while Mauro Ranallo is the play-by-play commentator.

The first match of 205 Live featured The debuting, Bollywood Boyz, who took on The Premier Athlete Tony Nese and Drew Gulak. The second match saw the debut of the Gentleman Jack Gallagher against Ariya Daivari.

Gallagher is undoubtedly one of the Cruiserweights, who caused most excitement and who fans have been anticipating highly, primarily due to his unique style of wrestling. The final match of the night was the Cruiserweight Championship match between The Brian Kendrick and Rich Swann.

Austin Aries seems to have something in WWE to do until he recovers. It is unclear as to whether Aries will continue calling 205 Live once he returns to NXT early next year. He paired with Roderick Strong for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic but was faced with an injury.

The injury occurred when he took a kick to the face by Shinsuke Nakamura at an NXT live event in California.

It was only rumoured yesterday, that Aries would have some non-physical role in the Cruiserweight Classic but it was announced only just before the program that he would be part of the commentary booth. WWE are continuing their tradition of having a three-man booth or more.

NXT is the only brand which has a two-man commentary booth. Smackdown Live has a four-man commentary team with Tom Phillips being the latest edition.
