- Daniel Bryan was not considered at all for the Royal Rumble 2014 match. He was booked for only one match against Bray Wyatt which he lost.

- The decision was taken very late to replace Bad News Barrett and Xavier Woods with JBL and El Torito respectively in the Rumble match.

- The general feeling with the WWE creative team was that the Royal Rumble was good overall but was without any major highlights or pops apart from Kofi Kingston‘s leap of faith.
