WWE News: Brandi Rhodes, wife of Cody Rhodes to wrestle in TNA

No more ring announcing, only wrestling

Brandi Rhodes(real name Brandi Alexis Runnels) went under the name Eden Stiles during her stint as a ring announcer in WWE, which was about 3 years. She was a very well-liked announcer, especially the way she announced Kevin Owens. At the end of May, her husband Cody Rhodes had left the WWE, and Brandi said that it was just two months more before her contract expired. She was going to be leaving anyway, but after Cody had left, she decided to ask for her release, which was granted. She said that she was working as a blogger and profiting from it quite a bit.TMZ has reported that Brandi Rhodes is now transitioning into a wrestling career, as she has apparently signed a deal with TNA, being part of the Knockouts division. It will be interesting to see how Brandi transitions into wrestling. She may have been trained by her husband itself. It is also curious to know when she started to train to be a wrestler. Perhaps she had been training for a while, and one of the main reasons she left WWE was her intention to wrestle.

However, that is nothing more than speculation.Either which ways, it is nice to see Brandi pursuing her dreams. The TNA Knockout division would be a good place for her to start. There have also been rumors going around that Cody Rhodes would be appearing in TNA as well to a non-exclusive deal, like he is in Ring Of Honor.

It is a bit surprising that Brandi has not done some independent shows. However, she will be a decent draw for the Knockouts division. She will be with the likes of Gail Kim, the latter of whom is a veteran and the latest inductee into the TNA Hall Of Fame, becoming the first female inductee into their Hall Of Fame in the process. It is good for Brandi in the sense that she is expanding her skills in various aspects, from a ring announcer to a blogger, and now a wrestler. With Cody helping her, she will definitely be on a good path.

Cody himself has been having an extremely hot run on the independent circuit, rapidly finishing his viral checklist of wrestlers. He is definitely adding value to his stock, and can perhaps have a run nearly, if not as hot as Alberto Del Rio did, when he left the WWE for a year.
