Reports: Brock Lesnar possibly returning back to UFC

Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar’s WWE contract expires in April 2015 and the latest indications hint towards a possible return to mixed martial arts.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio has said that, “At this moment he’s leaning towards the UFC.” Bellator MMA, UFC and the WWE are reported to be interested in his commercial appeal. However, Bellator is leading the race as they have stepped up their game to bring in more recognised fighters. Plus, with the WWE finding it too expensive to keep Lesnar, Bellator which is more suited to Lesnar’s fighting skills have an advantage of signing him.

Meltzer also stated that two potentially huge fights Bellator could line up for Lesnar would be Kimbo Slice and Bobby Lashley. A fight against Kimbo would be great for the ratings due to his notorious image while Lashley vs Lesnar is a feud that would be marketable for both WWE and MMA fans.

UFC president Dana White has made it clear that he wants Lesnar

“Brock wouldn’t go to Bellator,” White said this week, “Brock wants to fight the best guys in the world. The best guys are here.”
