CM Punk talks why he left WWE, rips Vince McMahon, Triple H and Brock Lesnar

CM Punk walking out on WWE was probably ‘the’ most controversial thing that the fans got to see in the company’s PG Era. There were a lot of questions left unanswered about Punk’s exit and due to his silence, the rumor mills were giving out random stories that they thought would make money.

All those misconceptions came to an end this week when Punk himself sat down with his best friend and professional wrestler, Colt Cabana, to spill the beans on his WWE exit and the reasons behind that decision.

These are the following things that Punk had to say.

Lesnar a Mo****f***** and partiality backstage

Punk started off his confession from his infamous pipe bomb promo which earned him a lot of mainstream attention. He actually got a lot of sponsorship offers thanks to that, but Vince McMahon didn’t want Punk to endorse sponsor which weren’t on WWE’s backing list.

Vince didn’t like the idea of UFC being endorsed by WWE superstars and also tagged the whole thing ‘barbaric’. However, when Brock Lesnar (and Punk called Lesnar a Mother****** by the way) came up with the same idea, Vince didn’t object.

There were a lot of partiality back in the WWE roster as names like Randy Orton and John Cena was able to get all the television deals and movies while Punk was held back from doing outside projects which were offered to him in plenty.

WWE apparently has no considerations for their wrestlers according to Punk. He said that all the concussions policies that the company took up was not primarily for the welfare of the superstars but was for Vince to look good in the general public since it was a Publically traded company.

Vince McMahon only cares about John Cena

Also, Punk didn’t like the idea of dropping his championship belt to a part-timer like Rock and wanted to headline WrestleMania alongside Rock and John Cena after he lost it. The latter didn’t happen and added up to the frustrations.

He was forced to work just days after his elbow surgery which scared him legitimately about dying from a blood clot which was the reason for ECW original Chris Candido’s death.

The WWE has no idea about what they want to do in the future as the only thing Vince cares about is what’s next for John Cena. He told about how the Shield was his idea and got stolen by Triple H.

Punk didn’t want to face The Undertaker at Wrestlemania

Punk never wanted to face the Undertaker at Wrestlemania

Punk didn’t want to face Undertaker at WrestleMania 29 because it had no future security for him. He was going to wrestle a 45-year-old man who turns up once in a year and he wasn’t paid enough money for doing it.

Punk was unhappy about working with Ryback as well, since it was a big drop from the program he did with Lesnar. Ryback also had reputations for botching which was another reason for Punk’s hesitations. The feud ended up giving Punk a lot of bruises and injuries.

The part-timers getting won over regular superstars were another thing that pissed Punk off for various reasons. Vince McMahon constantly wanted Punk to put over the likes of part-timers like Rock, Brock Lesnar and Undertaker while what Punk really wanted was to help the youngsters like Curtis Axel and Rusev.

Losing off against all the part-timers apparently brought down his stock in the wrestling business while Vince constantly shot down every idea that Punk had to offer in favor of the ones that came along for rare occasions.

He had harsh words for the WWE doctors who were not up to their job and one of the doctor’s even asked ‘ What should I do?’ when Punk told him that he had a concussion at this year’s Royal Rumble.

They didn’t cut out a lump that was in Punk’s back (which later turned out to be a full blow infection and was cut out by another doctor) for nearly a month which forced him to work through the pain while these same doctors have cut out a million lumps from other wrestlers back in the locker room.

WWE twisted stories rather than admitting their mistakes

Punk wasn’t informed about the Kane interference in the Royal Rumble and in between the match when he was informed; he made it clear that he would quit WWE if he doesn’t finish the match properly.

WWE also had this idea of twisting around the stories and putting the blame on regulars rather than admitting they screwed up.

The example he pointed out was the Survivor Series 2011 PPV which had bad buy rates and instead of admitting that the Cena – Rock team screwed up, the company pointed fingers at Miz and R- Truth who was in that match as well.

He then went on to say about the conversation he had with Vince McMahon and Triple H. Punk told Vince that he lost his love for the business and lashed about the ridiculous ideas that they had like bringing back Batista as a babyface.

Triple H the main reason why new wrestlers don’t become main eventers

CM Punk didn’t hold back his displeasure about Triple H when he said that “Triple H never liked me in the first place,” while at the same time mentioning that Hunter was the reason for new wrestlers not making it into the WrestleMania main event.

Punk did hug Vince McMahon and shook hands with Hunter before walking out.

Vince informed Punk that he was suspended till the eve of WrestleMania and then tried to bring back Punk into the business later, but when that failed, the company stopped sending checks to Punk.

And though the word around the block is about Punk quitting, he was actually fired by the WWE on his wedding day. In that termination letter, WWE restricted Punk from working in UFC; the same clause was there for Alberto Del Rio as well.

The revealing process was in typical CM Punk style as the podcast doesn’t cost anyone a dime. This is expected to spark an all-out war between Punk and the WWE but another interesting fact about the interview was that, it was a show sponsored by WWE 2K15.
