It has been nearly a year since the WWE fans have seen, or have even heard from the Undertaker. It was last April that the future WWE Hall of Famer lost for the very first time to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30. The Undertaker’s streak lasted 21 years, where he defeated some of the best professional wrestlers of all-time. Since WrestleMania his return has been questionable, leaving the WWE fans in wonder.

There is no question in anyone’s mind that one day The Undertaker will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, but when and how is. Will the last memory of The Undertaker be him losing too Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31, or will it be something different?

If The Undertaker were too return at Wrestle Mania 31 there are many possible scenarios that could play out. The most popular one would be for him to have a match with Sting.

Ever since the WWE purchased WCW in 2001 fans have always wanted The Undertaker and Sting to step into the same ring. With Sting finally making his WWE debut at “Survivor Series” this past November, the match Undertaker vs Sting is now a possibility. The only detriment that this possible storyline could have is that it looks as if the WWE has setup a Sting vs HHH match at WrestleMania. Now WWE could change the story and make The Undertaker a heel, as part of the group “The Authority.” But making The Undertake a heel this late, for a short amount of time, may not work. Fans might much rather see both Undertaker and Sting go into their match as baby-faces letting the fans decided who they want to cheer for.

Now there could be one more potential match for The Undertaker at WrestleMania, and that would be a rematch against Brock Lesnar. The premise of the story would be a very simple one, redemption. It is quite possible that The Undertaker could make an appearance the “Royal Rumble” event at the end of this month. If The Undertaker were to face Lesnar he would need to provoke him, and costing Lesnar his title would be a good way to do it. Lesnar is set to face Seth Rollins, and John Cena for the WWE Heavyweight Championship at the “Royal Rumble” and having The Undertaker cause some sort of distraction would be a great start to the storyline.

Now whether its Lesnar, Sting, or someone else, just having The Undertaker on the card would make WrestleMania 31 worth watching. If it does or does not happen it will not hurt The Undertaker’s legacy in anyway. The Undertaker has given the WWE fans some of the greatest moments, and not just WrestleMania moments, but moments to remember throughout his entire WWE career. So is Undertakers appearance at this year’s WrestleMania vital….no, but it sure would be a sight to behold.
