WWE had already planned for NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte and Natalya to fight in a singles match on Monday’s Slammy Awards Raw, but then it got changed to a tag team match, then finally deciding on going with the singles match.
Due to the awards, they were running low on time and the decision was made for them to do a quick singles match. It was said that this was Vince McMahon’s decision for Charlotte to lose and there was also a feeling that if Triple H had his way, Charlotte would have went over.
In the tag team match, Charlotte was the one who would have scored the pinfall for her team, but when it was changed to a singles match, Natalya was reportedly asked to lose, because she felt it was the right thing. Vince decided against it and Triple H defended this move, saying it was because of the timing issues. He also said that in six months when they bring Charlotte in again, people won’t remember that this happened.
Also, WWE announced later that, former superstar Edge and his former tag-team partner Christian will be appearing on the final episode of RAW in 2014. This event is said to take place on December 29th at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. Even WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Randy Orton and many others were also advertised.
