Is this the end of this WWE Superstar?

Rhodes (left) made his bones in the WWE as part of the stable ‘Legacy’

In a recent Q&A session on social networking site Twitter, Stardust – while replying to a fan – stated that his former self Cody Rhodes would never appear on WWE again, and stated that his former character was a thing of the past, according to wrestlinginc.com.

Stardust, whose real name is Cody Runnels, began his WWE career under the name Cody Rhodes on RAW back in 2007 and attained fame as a part of The Legacy from 2008 to 2010. Two Intercontentinal Championships, two Tag Team Championships, three World Tag Team Championships and a Slammy Award followed, before Rhodes adopted the name ‘Stardust’ back in 2014.

Stardust performed equally well, and has so far won two WWE Tag Team Championships, and a second Slammy Award.

The 30-year-old has also gained attention for his much-publicized feud with Arrow star Stephen Amell, who defeated him on an episode of RAW last May. Their rivalry heated after the incident, with Stardust stealing Amell’s Slammy Award for Celebrity Moment of the Year last December.

Amell and Stardust are set to clash again at the Dallas Comic Con this February. Here’s hoping Stardust’s storyline receives a boost in the near future.
